The super running sole consists of two components: a shock-absorbing EVA midsole and a non-slip rubber outsole certified EN ISO 13287:2012. The sole is also resistant to oil and grease. The Tokyo model is equipped with two adjustable straps to adjust the right width This is the real deal. Cork, leather, a buckle or two: these are the simple ideas that have made feet happy for over two hundred years, and that's the original Birkenstock. These shoes are made in Germany since 1774. No smoke, no mirrors, and no gizmos are needed. You walk, the shoe molds to your foot. The shape of the Original Birkenstock Footbed enables body weight to be distributed evenly over the whole foot, providing it with optimal support.

Bad feet? Look no further. These are some of the best shoes...ever!
I recommend these whole heartedly because I have bad feet and these shoes are great! Seriously. I have feet that hurt all the time- even when I take my shoes off, they still hurt. They are flat and if I don't wear arch supports in my shoes, they burn in the arch and my life is hell until I can sit down and get off of my feet. Enter the Tokyo.I have worn the Tokyo model for years. In fact, I still have my original shoes that I replaced with this new version because my feet changed and I needed a wider model. I have re-soled my original Tokyos more times than I can count and, despite the hard use and vast amount of tragedy, trauma, and disgust, in the 15 years I worked in the medical field, these shoes simply will not wear out! While I don't wear my original Tokyos much anymore due to their smallish size, I keep them around as my back up shoes because they STILL look good. The leather looks hardly worn except for the scuffing from gurney locks on the toes. Birkenstocks just take a beating and still seem to function and, if you have the money, you can actually re-build them completely with new foot beds, soles, and uppers. Re-soling mine cost me about $35 at my local shoe shop.I REALLY LIKE these new Tokyos because they have the non-slip soles which did not exist when I bought my original version, and I find them to be true to their claim of reduced slippage. As an aside, I also have the London model and like those also. Because I like the Tokyos a little more, I have mostly "retired" the Londons and now wear them with khakis and jeans, and find them to look semi-dressy, while still giving all day type of support, and comfort. In short, I have found no other shoe that will give the support and comfort and wear as well as these.

Best hospital shoes
Great for working in the hospital. The non-slip is really nice, and the leather is very easy to clean with wipes. Very breathable compared to other leather non-slip shoes, fit well with socks, and are quite adjustable. The only complaint is if you have skinnier ankles/feet you may need to punch an additional hole or two in the backstrap. My heel fits as expected in the heel box but sometimes when I walk my heel would slip up on the top of the strap so I just added another hole to make it fit a bit better.

Perfect
Wonderful as always. Strap fit perfectly very comfortably. Non slip sole lasts longer than normal Birkenstock sole . Love these.

Low quality.
Im light on my feet and don’t drag them. This is the second pair of birks I’ve bought and will be the last. Only 5 months of use and they’re falling apart. For $100+ shoes they better last longer than this. With many more chef shoes going on the market I’m sure Birkenstocks will lose money because this is unacceptable

Commercial kitchen use. Pain, Lifetime, upkeep and price
This was my second pair (Pictures of both are posted). Used for work in a commercial kitchen. Typically 5 day's, 10 hour shifts. Worked in Kitchens for over 10 years used a lot of different shoes, These are probably the best all-around.Breaking in the first pair was fairly painful. Switched out shoes the first couple of days, feet were accustomed to Vans and Chuck Taylor style shoes: flat bottomed. After they were broken in the comfort was great: feet and legs are never a bother. Took about 2 weeks for the first, 3 days before I wore them the entire shift. The second pair broke in with substantially less discomfort than the first. Maybe a week with minor discomfort. I wore the for full shifts immediatelyMy biggest thing was how long they would hold up. They lasted about 6 months (1st pair I got July 12th 2019, the second I got February 6th 2020). Which was a lot longer than almost anything I've had before. Held the cork on with Duct tape for a month. The only work shoe that lasted longer were the croc style slip-ons. When the Birkenstocks started breaking the cork part became detached, maybe you could glue it back on but shoe glue hasn't ever worked well for me. We have issues with pooling water in some areas of the kitchen, so that may have contributed. I only used them for work. Considering other work shoes I've bought have only lasted around 3 months and most look like crap after 1. These stack up better than almost everything in terms of lifetime. The newer pair is in great shape structurally but they've been sidelined for almost 2 months because of this Covid issue... And now I'm writing Amazon reviews. ..Anyway.Cleaning the leather and keeping these professional looking only takes a few wipes. I used the Armor All leather wipes.Something to look out for, I bought my first pair for $150 and the second for $105. So maybe shop around a bit.So overall, great shoe in terms of comparison to everything else I've tried. Durable, stylish, professional, fairly priced at $105 and solid support. I want to try the the new Vans line of work shoes: "Made for the Makers". I have my doubts about those but I'd like to test um out. These will be the goto if the Vans don't work out. I'm starting to think that expecting shoes to last for years in a kitchen is a stretch.O and they don't slip around and you don't slip out of them

I love Birkenstock
Super fast shipping from Germany to the US even with a short delay in customs. They fit just like my Birkenstock sandals that I have worn for a few years now . I had to break my old ones in and will do the same with these for that perfect fit. For those who have never owned Birkenstock before they might feel weird at first until the cork starts to mold to your foot and then they are heavenly!! These are great quality and I love the clog look.
