Packed full of Art and Inspiration
Manga Art by Mark Crilley is not just a book containing the art of Mark Crilley. It takes you on a journey of discovery and pure joy. With over 150 pages filled to the brim with Crilley's Original art this book contains magic every aspiring or even experienced artist craves. Split into 5 ''Sub Divisions'' Crilley has packed different types of art work to fit the theme of that particular chapter. Character creation, Japan, Science Fiction, Conceptual Art and Style-Play. Each Illustration then has a detailed description which talks about the motivation behind the piece and the methods used to create that piece of art.Crilley is best known for his How to Draw video’s over on his YouTube channel and he hasn’t missed a beat here either. Giving his readers ample opportunity to learn from Manga Art and understand and find motivation to draw and keep drawing by adding ‘’Your Turn’’ segments within each chapter. These segments provide prompts for you to take to your drawing table/desk and try for yourself what Crilley has attempted within the book. It’s not a book you’ll simply read once, you’ll find inspiration in Manga Art and it will make your fingertips itch with the urge to practice what you learn and move onto the next prompt. Manga Art guides you on the fundamentals of art, the essence in which art is a means to show your creativity, it encourages you to push your boundaries and keep asking what’s next?I’m glad I purchased Manga Art so much so I was inspired even as I was going through it. While I can’t post it on here I hope you’ll all check out my short video where I flick though some of the content of the book and talk about it in a little more details. Better yet add it to your shopping cart and proudly display it on your book shelf, well it’s more likely to end up laying on your desk as you attempt to use it to work on your own art.If you would like to check out my video on this then please head over to my blog Breaking the Melancholy where I’ll also be posting this review along with the video I created to showcase Manga Art.

Not what I expected based on the title and description
I am quite disappointed. It’s not a tutorial/learning book and the drawings are not that interesting or inspirational to me. I am simply giving the book away as there are better things to spend time on.

Mr Crilley does it again
I've been a follower and fan of his work for many years now. And like his previous books, this is a fantastic work on the process of making illustrations.
