Amazing illustrations, easy to read!
This is a great and easy read! I was not familiar with the Allegory of the Cave and still thoroughly enjoyed the book. Very thought provoking and would be a good intro into philosophy. Amazing illustrations done by a child.

Excellent and Thought Provoking
In this short story Dr. Condrey manages to successfully express the richness of Plato’s Allegory of the Cave in a way that succinctly explains the theory of forms to young readers. The philosophical concepts behind Plato’s story do not take a back seat to the narrative; they propel it! Between the brilliantly named character and chapters to the subtle religious undertones, Dr. Condrey captivates his readers and draws them in to participate in Plato’s philosophical dialectic.

Short and cute way to introduce philosophy
I read this out loud to my six children this evening. And some of my children had reactions and questions about Prudentia and especially the reality section. I love when a books does this. This is a short and cute way to introduce philosophy concepts and literature to children. If there are more written we will definitely read them. Great job Dr. Bj Condrey.

Great book to read as a family!
Reading this book to my kids at night allowed us to discuss new concepts that required critical thinking. My kids loved the story and we used it as an opportunity to encourage deeper considerations of previously understood concepts and opened the door to discuss new ones.

Short, enjoyable read that invites further discussion with kids
This is an enjoyable short read that you can get into even if you are not into philosophy (although you’ll appreciate it more if you do). I read it and two of my kids (15 & 11 yr) read it too. They were not familiar with Plato’s cave allegory so it raised lots of questions for them. Why don’t we hear more about the other children? How did they get into the cave to begin with? Where are Prudentia’s parents? Why are the objects in the cave floating?Even so, the story is very readable and might be well used as a segue for parents or teachers to talk about the larger meaning of the story as part of a discussion of image, reality, the nature of truth, and people’s discovery and reactions (negative and positive) to new information.

Big concepts don't need big books...
if you explain them well. They say if you can't explain something to a six year old, you probably don't understand it. Well, My six year old, nine year old, and twelve year old had no problem grasping the idea behind the story. Dr. Condrey does a great job here, and Ezra Condrey's gentle artwork is a nice touch. I would enjoy seeing this as part of a series!

Perfectly written
My seven year old has loved reading this so far. It's an easy read and perfectly written for children. She can't wait to finish it and she was so excited to see the artwork from someone her own age. I highly recommend this book.

Dr. Condrey is actually my teacher!
He is very intellectual and gives great insights in this book. This keeps you engaged too. Interestingly enough he is actually my teacher, and the fact that he's also a writer and I didn't know it till now, really shows how passionate he is about his work!
