Never give up your gas.
Great product, will be traveling to different states and countries so definitely needed something others can't steal my gas while I'm out hiking

Stranded me at the gas station!!!
With gas prices as high as they are I fell victim to somebody siphoning gas out of my old Yukon. Remembering the gas lines of the late 70s I remembered the locking gas cap. A simple enough product that is very effective.Pro: it fit as described. When I installed it the locking mechanism Functioned as expected.Con: this morning I drove to the gas station to fill up my car only to have the locking mechanism not release the cap. I inserted the key and as I tried to unlock it all I heard was a ratcheting sound similar to what you would hear if you were over tightening a cap. Fortunately I had enough gas to return home where I was able to use a pair of channel locks to squeeze the outer shell so that the inner mechanism would grip the tines and I was able to get the cap off. I can’t imagine if this it happened while my wife was out and about driving the vehicle. Odds are she would’ve had to drive it to a shop where they would’ve charged a pretty penny to remove it.Buyer beware. Now to be fair I have not contacted the company so I cannot speak to their customer service, however I do intend to do so. If I find satisfactory results I will add a follow up to this review.

Good product.
Purchased for our vehicle after several cars in the area had been drained of fuel. Works as needed, would say you must insure that you tighten the cap well or your check engine light may come on.

Bad quality control
Item totally failed leaving us stranded with no ability to refuel vehicle. Item had to be forcefully removed in pieces. The key mechanism failed refusing to unlock. My sister-in-law has exactly same product for almost exactly same amount of time and so far no problems.

Gas cap breaks and gets stuck on car so you can’t get gas
The media could not be loaded. I bought this for my 2012 Camaro and it was easy to install. After the first couple of refills it worked fined, although it was super rough to take off and put back on as you had to put a lot of torque in your hands to turn it and have it click 3 times. However today I was getting gas and I could not open the gas cap no matter how hard I tried, as shown in the video. The top part of the gas would turn and click when I turned it harder, but the cap would not come off. My guess is the catching mechanism inside the cap broke as it was made of plastic. It was very annoying to remove and then have to buy a brand new gas cap. Very disappointing and poor quality product. I expect a full refund.

Keeps honest people out?
Glad to have it with the price of gas. Last fill at the 1/4 tank mark cost over $71.It is more difficult than expected to remove the locking cap, which is both good and bad for an old person with arthritis. It is good because maybe it will keep your neighbor from siphoning your gas but difficult to put enough pressure on it with arthritic hands. I see it kinda like an alarm system on your home will not keep a real burglar out but might be enough to have that burglar go on to the next home without an alarm. With a locking gas cap might be enough to have the gas burglar move on to the next vehicle.

It Definitely Secures the Tank
It is so good it locks YOU out. It took 2 customers to help me get the cap off at the gas station. It is tricky to get off and you have to line it up a certain way for the cap to come off WITH THE KEY!!!!! It is well made but it does take a lot of practice and patience to get it off once securely on the tank. Should have returned it. You do not want to be stranded and not be able to get this cap off. Cannot use it.
