Good little kettle
The media could not be loaded. My old electric kettle stopped working after a good 5 years of daily use for teas and pour-over coffee. I love the idea of a bright copper kettle whistling away on the fire, but I am too easily distracted not to use an electric water kettle with automatic shut-off instead (I can't even count the number of pots and kettles I've burned irreparably). I wanted an exact replacement of my HadinEeon glass kettle, but couldn't find one, so I chose this Bella instead. I'm familiar with their beautiful ceramic kettles which are out of my price range, but choosing a used borosilicate one with free shipping brought the price down to just $15. So I stopped shopping and put it in my cart. It arrived within 3 days!I love the blue light that glows up from the black base through the water, it's mesmerizing. And boiling water in a glass vessel reminds me of that scene in Blade Runner when Priss pulls out the boiling eggs from the glass pot. Good times. But I digress. The lid is secured with a pinch-to-open mechanism on top, so you either need to use both hands, pinch open the lid with one hand while the pot is resting on a stable surface, or have strong ring and pinky fingers to hold the handle while your first and middle fingers pinch open the lid. I wish it was one-hand friendly like my old kettle, with the thumb lever above the handle, but the Bella lid will stay open at 90 degrees without needing to hold it with your thumb, so I guess it's a trade-off. You also have to tug it a bit to get it in that position, but, no-biggie. Actually, I suspect that's the reason it was returned; when you open the lid, it resists at about 45 degrees, like that's as wide as it goes. Plus, it won't remain open, so it's awkward trying to fill the pot under the faucet (not to mention cleaning it). I was disappointed, but figured, oh well, $15, right? On the second day of use I thought, nooo, that just couldn't be how it was designed - maybe it was stuck or something - so I pulled the lid a little harder, and voilà! 90 degrees and it stays put! My biggest complaint was solved! The Bella also doesn't have a "keep warm" feature, a notification beep, or a temperature control panel like my old kettle, but, honestly, I never once used the thermostat on that one, so it's not worth the cost for me. This one has a large toggle switch with an audible "click" sound that's loud enough to hear in a quiet apartment, and in a few minutes your water is boiled and the heating element is safely and automatically toggled off again. Aah, simplicity and peace of mind. The only feature I truly dislike is the plastic strainer attached to the underside of the lid where the water pours out. I guess it's for loose tea leaves? I honestly don't know. Why would anyone want a plastic filter for their boiling water? See, that's when a thumb lift lid would come in handy too. But I think I can yank it out though. Another tiny complaint is the width of the handle compared to my old kettle; but, then again, I have small hands, so it won't trouble most people and I'll grow accustomed to it. But if you have weak wrists, it miiiight be a problem with the added weight of 1.7 liters of water. So, all in all, it does the job it's designed to do, looks lovely doing it, and is very reasonably priced (even new). If you've never used an electric kettle, now's your chance to try one out. Keep your stove burners free and give yourself perfect peace of mind.

Instantaneous water heater
The transparent design allows for a good observation of the water level, has lighting effects, heats up quickly, and is cheap, so it's worth recommending.

Works great, large size
This is a great kettle. It heats up quickly and has a large capacity. It's very sturdy and simple to use. My preteens are able to safely use it to make ramen, hot chocolate, and oatmeal. Great brand too.

Upstairs caffiene fix
For those times we feel like having a cup of coffee or tea and just too lazy to go downstairs where we have another one (not this model, though). These are efficient and heat up quickly since the heating element is in the water.FYI, keep the lid snapped closed. It seems the shut off is achieved by pressure from the boiling water. If you have the lid cracked it'll never reach pressure and will continue to boil until all the water is gone.

Good Solid Electric Kettle
The media could not be loaded. One of the best features of this kettle is that it is glass. The last kettle we had, you couldn't see how much water was in it.I like how this one has a blue light, which is purely for aesthetics, but it is nice. The biggest concern I had was the safety feature. I tested it right away. I put the max amount of water to boil and turned on the kettle. It took a little bit longer than I thought it would, but I sat there and waited this first time to make sure everything went smoothly. After it rapidly boiled for about ten seconds, it shut itself off (see video). The top is a little "stiff" to open and close (you have to pinch the lid before you lift), but it may just be from being new. Time will tell. This kettle is a good value for the price point. I would recommend it to others with the notes mentioned above.

Works great and quick
This item saves so much time and is very convenient. It saved me a lot of time and it can store a lot of water as well. This item is compact and looks awesome. It’s very durable as well and can last you a very long time.

Highly recommended
I love this kettle! Heats quickly and the auto off function is great so I don’t have to worry about running to catch it if I happen to be busy when it’s done. The lights pretty cool and bright enough to know it’s on but not blinding. Has good weight as well but still easy to lift with out much strain. My elderly bfs mom is also able to use it with ease so recommend it for any age.

Horrible design
The media could not be loaded. It is such a horrible design! I hate giving a product a star but I truly feel like it needs a warning for others! I dont understand how this is so highly rated.I bought this used like new and it was brand new (in box packaging etc) and I grabbed it because the price was great. I have been using these for 17 years and given so many as gifts with teas or coffee presses. This one in comparison to the others I've used constantly stays boiling until you catch that you didn't firmly press the lid down and get the 2nd click which so many times has been 10 minutes +. It will happen to you if you buy this, it's a very different design. It just steamed my above cabinets and the picture is 5 minutes after drying the cabinet. It is a horrible design even with how the lid opens. Instead if it all staying internal, it is external. I have burnt my hand on boiling water so many times because the condensation that goes to the top of the lid exits the back when you have your hand on the handle.I have used many of these and have never had issues like I have with this one.Its pretty! Thats the only positive. I got it to replace one that started getting very delayed boiling times but I put this one to the test when it arrived and the boiling time on the new one was more delayed than the one that has a noticeable longer boiling time than it had the first 2 years of its life which is the only reason why I was replacing it.
