Great awning for the price
This is a very nice awning took a minute to figure out directions . Put it together in an hr and installed by myself don’t advise everyone to try total time 2 hrs

Good product, lousy instructions
Instructions were almost unusable. I ended up using videos on line but they didn't match up with my unit even tho they were the same brand. So there was trial and error. I'm happy with awning, hopefully it holds up more than a season

defective parts and slow response
First we found damaged metal on the side of one piece, but it didn't interfere with the operation or overall appearance so we decided to let it go. Then we noticed one of the bars was slightly bent, but we straightened it out as best we could and thought it probably wouldn't affect operation. But when we got to the extension arms which are partially assembled from factory, we found an important screw broken. We can not replace nor repair. I first turned it in to Amazon and printed a return label. We were very disappointed we had to disassemble it and package it up. Then I noticed Amazon suggested discussing issue with manufacturer so I went to their website and entered a chat with a man named Justin. He apologized and was very nice. He said we could throw it away or do whatever and a replacement would be sent to us in about 6 days. I asked for a confirmation number or claim number which he said he would send in an email. I have not received any emails and it is almost a week. I wonder if they are waiting for the 30 days to expire and then refuse to keep their word. Now we don't know if we should take this all apart and return or wait on the hope Aosom will keep their word.

Pretty good one
I used this for almost a year now. It is still good. It is little tricky to assemble and mount to the wall. I had to watch youtube videos many times and tried different ways before I completed the installation.

Instructions Have Been Improved!!!
I read the reviews and was a bit intimidated by the fact that many people had trouble following the instructions, due to poor english translations and picture quality. After I ordered, I went through buyers remorse and was very worried that I was making a huge mistake. I was pleasantly surprised to learn upon opening that the instructions had been rewritten. My husband and I had no confusion putting the awning together. We were able to do the whole thing in just under 2 hours. The quality seems good, but I've never had an awning, so I really don't have anything to compare it to. Seems like it would hold up for at least a few years, and for the price, when that time comes, I would order again.

The instructions are not right!! Have you ever put one together with them??
The instructions said to put the bars together and then put the fabric on. WRONG! you have to feed the fabric on each end and then put them together. What a pain! The seams made it difficult to feed on the bars. Have you tried to put your own awnings together following your instructions?? Wish I hadn't bought it - so frustrating!!

Pain to assemble...yes. worth it...yes.
Like other reviews...the instructions were horrible. Photos and diagrams were not very clear on what to do. I put it together and took it apart several times before it was right. It's much easier if there are 2 people when threading the material thru the little slots. We did have to add a 4x4x12 under our eaves where we were planning on installing it, so we ended up spending another 50 bucks at the hardware store. Make sure you have about a foot clearance top to bottom where you wiIl be installing it (we had 8" and it would not fit) I would suggest laying all the awning parts out on the lawn and start there. Its also nice if you have a furry friend to hold everything down for you....but not necessary. After about 6 hours, we finally got to enjoy it. Definitely worth every penny and we are loving it now. Our patio stays much cooler now! Ordered the light gray. 12' x 8'.
