Full Size - Otis Moonshadow Futon Mattress

If you are shopping for growing kids or light/occasional use, maybe skip this review and buy a Haley 90 for a couch or a Haley 110 for a bed, save the extra money for pillows, done deal. Haleys are high-value, durable, comfortable mattresses that will do it all.With that said: The Moonshadow is a fabulous mattress and has a more supple feel than the Haley line for just a little more money. Moonshadow is techno-soft: comfy like the Haley 90 but has similar support to the Haley 110 without being so firm--I say this having had 110 and 90 on couch and chairs respectively for about ten years.Otis mattresses are high quality, period--they are all nice once you're into "better" and "best," so I'm being a little bit particular here: I like the Haley 90 better than the Haley 110 at the same price point and the Moonshadow is the nicest of the three--it's a legitimate upgrade from Haley.I'm using my Moonshadow as a couch mattress--it's perfect for that and looks and sits great. I would also say it would make a very good full time bed, although I prefer the Otis Gemini for that purpose. Otis mattresses last and last if you take care of them, so there's that to consider: they are better in every way than most commercial sleep mattresses sold in showrooms. I really like and enjoy the Otis Moonshadow and highly recommend it.

I love my mattress!!!! I took a week to research futon mattresses and this was the winner!!! A lot of the thicker mattresses I found had reviews of an odor and I didn’t want that! NO smell, thick, sturdy made well and soft! I don’t feel any of the bars through the mattress. My 65 year old mother sleeps on it and says it very comfortable. I would recommend this mattress to anyone looking for an extra bed!!! I would recommend buying a futon cover as it doesn’t come with one and it’s cream! I also did a couple coats of scotch guard!

Name of company and pics are misleading. For the price we assumed the futon frame was included, and not just a full size mattress that with effort can kind of be squeezed on a separate futon frame. Had to go to a local store to get an actual futon frame. Would not have ordered had we known it was a mattress only. Not a good value.

We got this to go with a tri-fold frame [that doesn't work as well as expected] but the mattress is really comfortable. I allowed it to sit out and settle flipping it couple of times a day for almost a week but I'm just cautious that way. We have had this thing for a while now and no sign of lumping or bumps. We flip it once a week but that's pretty standard for mattress care. I think people who have had issues with this thing just didn't read up on letting it settle before using it. The thing has been compressed so you really need to let gravity do its work before tossing something like this on your bet and sleeping on it. All this time later now and its still in great shape.

I purchased 2 full size Moonshadow mattresses for our family camp and they are super comfortable. We have them at home as well on beds in guest spaces. Firm but not too hard. I think they are the Best Buy available. USA made and high quality. I regularly sleep on a Lull mattress but find the Moonshadow to be almost as comfortable. Best value and not just a futon mattress by any means.

Much firmer than I expected; this may be a plus for you, but it wasn’t for me.

A great futon mattress. I'm not sure how many times I've heard complaints about sleeping on a futon. I have never complained about sleeping on this mattress. And people who come over to visit can't believe its so comfy. If you have hard metal bars or spend a lot of time on your futon do yourself a favor and get this mattress you may never sleep in your bed again.
