Alternative Gold Powder for Kintsugi Repair and Makie from Japan 10g

Outstanding! In fact, I think it gives an aesthetically superior result compared to the "Natural Gold Powder."I wanted to repair a broken bowl using kintsugi. Instead of the traditional urushi-powder lacquer (which basically sounds like dried poison-ivy sap), however, I used clear, two-part epoxy to bind the broken pieces together. After allowing it to cure, I scraped off the excess, which left such an invisible repair that I decided not to bother coloring the seams with gold.But that still left me with a broken gap at the top, which I filled in with resin clay. After allowing that to harden, I painted it with the clear, two-part epoxy and then, finally, sprinkled it with this gold powder. You can see the results for yourself.(By the way, do not be put off by the fact that the powder appears somewhat brownish in the package. It is just highly concentrated. When thinned out appropriately (either by mixing just a little with clear epoxy or by sprinkling it onto the epoxy), it looks BEAUTIFUL. Exactly like real gold.

I used two part epoxy, then sprinkled on this gold product. Tapped my pot to shake off the excess. Overall I’m pleased with the end result. This product did its job. But the price did seem on to be on the expensive side.

great product as described , have no problemwork with this powder whatever ... great mixin result with resin ... will buy again
