Used to colour homemade playdough with children. Very vibrant colours that don’t stain little hands! Cannot comment on flavour as obviously we didn’t eat the playdough!

I used 40 drops per layer. The red could have been darker but came out more pink. Was tasteless and really fun to mix. Worked really well.

I used probably 15-20 drops of colour which produced really bold colours. Can definitely get more pastel shades too, just a case of adding a few drops at a time to get the desired colour palette.

My granddaughter loved it

I had a good clear out of my cake cupboard after baking for my granddaughter and then son's birthday cakes and noticed my food pastes were close to expiry.My grandaughters cake was a unicorn so these inspired me and I'm happy to say that the production date was printed June and I received in July. They have a 2 year expiry, but as I am "chief baker" in our family, these will be well used in that time!As they are liquid rather than paste, they can be used for liquid icings and cake mixes, they will not work well for fondant pastes.I'm going to give them a little go in my resin and candle mixes too - I'll update my review with my findings, although of course theirain use is for edible food colourings.Some nice choices of colours and it's nice to see black which will work great with Halloween fast approaching!Good value at around just 60p a bottle at time of purchase 🙂

These look fab vibrant colours but with being a liquid they dilute a considerable amount when used in baking a cake. To get the same vibrancy as seen in the bottle you'd need to use a heck of a lot so your cake batter would be too runny. Good for light colouring of cake batter though.They're best used when making coloured icing, instead of using water use the liquid colour first then add a drop or two of water once your depth of colour is pretty much what you want. As far as liquid colours go for baking they're pretty good, obviously they won't be a rich as a paste colour but for the price (£6.99 when I got them) they're great fir encouraging kids to bake or cook with you.
