Dr. Martens Unisex's Vegan 1461 Oxford Shoe

I started eating vegan for health reasons, not for animal rights. But there's a good case for animal rights too. So instead of buying another pair of leather shoes, I'm trying these. So far, so good. The shoes are comfortable, nice looking, and wear pretty much like leather.

Purchased a year ago for my son; took at least 3 months to break in. Initially uncomfortable; now he really likes them.

Excellent shoe... No dead animals on my feet... great fit...

This is my fifth or sixth pair of these shoes. They are usually very durable. I have had this pair though for a little over three months now and both have big splits in the soles. I’m hoping they can figure out whatever the manufacturing issue is with this batch.

They fit well. They fit my moral compass. But damn I did not expect to pay $90 and then have the soles split after 4 weeks of wearing them. They're still wearable, but it is a design flaw for the soles to develop a large crack after so little use.

It gives me a DM option as a vegan but first pair only lasted 18 months as compared to previous DM's that lasted decades. Quality is not what it used to be in DM's

The soles come off after only a few months of daily wear. The vegan boots do not seem to have this problem.
