Expensive but worth the price. Long time artist who is new to oil painting. I wanted something non-toxic that I can use indoors to thin my paint. I love the smell of lavender, as does my family, so this was a perfect choice. I pipet a little bit into a separate tiny jar and reseal the original jar, to avoid contamination and evaporation. Then I can add it to the paint as I need it. It works. I’m happy with my purchase.

(Note- the dropper was bought separately and added. Original product comes with a regular screw on lid.)I recently got rid of turpentine and toxic chemicals in my art studio. After doing a lot of research I decided on this to thin my oil paint instead of turpentine. The smell is slightly strong but not in a bad way. I have not had even one headache, which I used to get all the time with turp before. The smell also does not seem to linger which is important since I paint near my kitchen and living room.I took someone’s advice and bought a small glass medicinal dropper which screws on perfectly to the lavender spike oil bottle. I simply drop as much as I need onto my palette so I don’t waste any.

This product makes my studio smell heavenly.

I love using Chelsea Classical Studio Lavender Spike Oil Essence instead of toxic chemicals or turpentine for my oil painting. It smells soooo good, and my studio always smells amazing because of it. It works great! The price is a bit high for such a small bottle, which is the only reason I'd give it 4.5⭐️. A must-have for any artist looking for a natural alternative! 🖌️🖼️🌿

I love the smell of lavender, so the fact that it's strong and in my bedroom is actually a bonus. It's expensive and this is a vwry small container, but I buy this for working indoors, and it's worth it to know the pets and kid are safe. Now that I know I like it though, I wouldn't buy this size again, it's way more economical to buy a larger bottle. All the Chelsea studios lavender oil products I've tried work great, but some of them like fat and lean, I would just mix myself in the future, from larger bottles of the basic ingredients. If you look at the labels, you really can just make the fat and lean yourself with walnut or safflower oil, the lavender spike oil and linseed oil. Their soaps are also great.
