Awesome for African Grey!
This tether comes with several different size rings made of a soft leather – like substance which does not cut into the birds foot. To put it on the bird, wrap your birds head in a large towel as though you are going to trim the nails of the feet. Then bring out the foot which does not already have an identification ring on it. Open the ring on the tether and put it through one end of the leather – like device, then wrap the other end around, taking care not to pull on the birds foot, and slide the other side of the ring through it and let it click closed. Then check and make sure it is secure. As soon as you finish, take your bird outside and engage their interest so they won’t be wanting to chew on whatever is on their leg. If you had one person holding the bird in the towel and a second person to open and close the ring, which is pretty strong, it would be easier, but I do it myself every time. see the photo of my bird at the lake. She decided to jump in and take a swim, and I was easily able to pull her out of the lake using the line. She has been able to experience so many wonderful things since I got this tether, I have been looking for something like this for years and years, as she is 22 years old now. If and when the foot ring wears out, I will definitely buy this again.

Worst leash I’ve seen
Once in the leash I took bird to fly outside and just hang out with me. The leash is made of cheap plastic. Seems like the cheap plastic kids bracelets. I was constantly afraid he would just fly away. The leather straps, none of which fit his legs or feet properly. Once around his legs I secured strap with the leash clasp. That was a doozie to get on. However once he was outside and wanting to fly he made it to where it expanded all the way but somehow the leash made him keep falling to the ground.

Security pin
I like it...just the security pin is too difficult to open and if your bird is not use to it, it will be very difficult to pit it in the bird

Hard to put on and off
Not easy to get onto the bird it's a 2 person job to put on and off, also the strap is quite heavy for conures. We will wait for vet to band her and use light leather strap

Not for budgies, but could work for others :)
Sadly I can’t give this the review I want. I love this and I would recommend it for a bigger bird. Maybe a cockatiel and up. However for a parakeet it’s just to heavy. That’s the only problem. Everything else is great about it. I will say it could take her trying to munch on it. Which is nice.
