Impressed and pleased
UPDATE APRIL 2023: well have been using lift off and on for some time and still going strong. I installed a quick connect for power for either my winch or this lift. I also fabricated a larger plate to rest on top of existing plate when needed for larger footprint. I installed quick pins at various points to make storage and carrying easier.Well I was apprehensive about ordering this based on the reviews I read here, but the option of having to remove/replace the tailgate for the occasional need of a lift did not make sense for my situation.I just received the product yesterday and assembled it, but I am impressed so far. The seller was kotulas and everything was packed VERY well on a pallet and arrived via truck freight. (I will write a vendor review too)I did not find the instructions on assembly as difficult as other have explained although a few more pictures would be helpful. I liked how the bolts were stamped on top with the corresponding number referenced in the instructions...it made assembly that much quicker. I first assembled it loosely with all the nuts threaded just the one turn before you hit the nylon to make sure everything fit well and then I tightened one section at a time while checking the fit.I also read where someone said the crimp sleeve on the cable slipped and came apart so I wanted to reduce the risk of this so I added a cable clamp next the the sleeve for a little added security. To test the power and feed the cable, I used the 50amp breaker in line with my battery jump pack and everything worked well...and I might just use this set-up for while still in the testing phase before hard-wiring it to the battery.I may give quick disconnect pins a try to make the tray removable to reduce the weight when disconnecting and storing the unit...or I may just up my gym time so it is not an issue :)

GOOD QUALITY
I would have given a 5 star but without assy instructions I had to resort to YouTube for other buyers to help show how they got through it.

This makes the near impossible loads safer and doable.
This device is perfect. As indicated, the installation manual depends on low res pictures that are too small to be useful, but if you fancy yourself to be mechanically inclined, you will figure it out. There is one part on this unit that is called a 'stabilizer' that attaches around the receiver but seems to be useless. I used a composite shim, jammed into the top of the receiver to keep the rig from wobbling and bouncing in transit. I also added a bungee cord to each side of the lift plate while driving to reduce vibration during transit. I am using this on a F-350 and have found for most loads (under 250lbs.) I do not need to use the stabilization legs. The rear springs in my truck seem to be stable enough. If you are going to use this on a lighter truck or are lifting maximum loads, you probably should use the legs.

Adequate
Hitch lift works ok but not an impressive product. For anyone who has trouble getting the product to perform, I would suggest making sure that none of the linkages are binding or bolts too tight after putting it together. The lock nuts supplied should not be tightened to the point that the pieces are not able to freely move. Make sure the battery you are using is fully charged and has sufficient amperage to run the winch. Packaging was terrible. Manufacturer crammed it all into one box which was not heavy enough and the box was tearing open upon delivery. As a result, some of the painted surfaces and the reflective tape on the underside was marred and scratched where the pieces rubbed together in the box. Assembly instructions were much less than satisfactory. The instruction booklet was printed too small and the bolts and fasteners were not labeled very well. Even after blowing up the diagrams on a copy machine, I had trouble distinguishing how the pieces went together so you will need to have some intuitive mechanical skills to get it together. If you are a home owner or DIY handyman and are planning only for occasional use, the product will probably work ok. If you are in a commercial business, go ahead and spend $1200+ and get something more durable.

Works but the manufacturer can not help u after purchase.
Good product not so good customer service. I called the office number and got the run around about an extra lift controller. I called the first time, they said about thirty days. I called two weeks later got some more bs.Long story short I ordered a controller from another company.

The lift started started out to work OK but the steel cable slipped out of its crimped sleeve which could have done serious damage to the lifted item or to the operator. The cabel has to be replaced .

Product is overbuilt
This product is very heavily built for my purposes. You must be very intuitive to assemble it, though. The pitiful instruction manual is very little help. You must be able to 'read' the tiny pictures to get an idea of how it goes together. Some of the features that are stated in the manual are not the same, such as the method by which the lift is adjusted up or down to meet the level of your tailgate. It is not difficult once you figure it out, but don't rely on the instructions for this.
