Handy Soft Shackle
I have a power boat that I park on gravel, just off my driveway. It’s in a place that’s awkward to back my pickup to in order to get the trailer on the ball. I have a compact backhoe, though, and this is easier for me to maneuver to the trailer hitch. However, the backhoe doesn’t have a tow-ball, but it does have a welded hook on the front-loader. With this soft nylon shackle, it’s now an easy job for me to get it around the trailer hitch, then over the hook, so I can tow the boat out where the truck can take over. In order for the shackle to hold, you need to get the knot through the loop at the other end. The nylon is stiff at first, but I expect it to soften with use. There are all kinds of uses I can see for a shackle like this. It would be a handy thing to have in an off-road ATV or jeep.

Choosing between the braided and nylon sleeve
Summary: These soft shackles are pretty useful.Observations: This company (RAYTEEN) offers two options for the sleeve, one is braided and the other a nylon tube. Giving that some thought, I noticed a few things: a) the identification tag is located in different places; braided, is on the loop end; nylon, is on the knot end; between the two, it would probably get in the way being on the knot end (might get captured by the loop). b) the braided does not appear to move, where as the nylon sleeve can be repositioned. c) With the nylon sleeve, I'm going to see if I can reposition the tag underneath the sleeve, and away from any pinch points.Pros: Good fit & finish; very high breaking strength.Cons: RAYTEEN offers a few off-road components, but it doesn't appear towing/rigging gear is their primary business line. Given the serious potential damage from a failed shackle, I would probably be looking at something more proven than a brand new product offering. Conclusion: At $23, rating this 4-stars. I went with the NYLON SLEEVE version, for reasons discussed above, and will be updating the review if I discover any additional insights.

Well made… And well tied
The thing that immediately impressed me was the packaging, believe it or not. Instead of the generic box you often get with goods from China, this one comes in a proper box, sealed, with clear English front and back. Moreover, the shackle itself is packaged in plastic inside the box.The shackle is well tied. In particular, the night is VERY tight. Another reviewer commented that the loop through which the knot goes was tight also. I agree, but it loosens up sufficiently after a little manipulation, after which the fit is firm but easy to get on and feels secure. This shackle is slightly longer than many on the market, which I appreciate. By the time you go through an end (or two) of a tree protector plus a ring, things can get tight. A little extra length is helpful. Please note that this is a single shackle and not a pair.Excellent shackle.

Quality on par with the American brand name soft shackles
At about $22 for one shackle as of the time of this writing, this soft shackle represents a very good value. The quality is nearly identical to the name brand ones costing $49 here on Amazon. The weave is nice and tight, the finish is good, and the bright orange color makes it easy to find in the dirt if dropped. I switched from metal D rings to soft shackles in all my recovery gear about a year ago and the weight savings and increase in safety has been worth the cost!. There are slightly better values out there (2 for $35 with almost the same quality) but this Rayteen unit is very good. My ONLY negative thing to say is that the knot is large in comparison to the hole it needs to thread through so it can be a bit tight (especially when new) but this is a good thing in that it makes it more secure.

Easy to use. So much better than metal
I broke a metal shackle trying to pull a tree out of the road and I'll never go back. This is a great idea. A monkey fist on one end and a loop on the other. I've got no way to test the strength of this rope but I have no doubts it will work for my hauling and pulling. Also it matches the Kubota. Nice.

Beast of a Shackle ... Super Strong
The media could not be loaded. Video goes over how to use it and the massive load rating ... these are very easy to use and great. Of course a hard shackle is nice because it will never come off ... but these are ideal for pulling stuck vehicles out of sand and mud and whatnot.Note this is a really big/strong one. There are lighter duty shackles for ATVs and whatnot.
