Bought this product very recently as a replacement & it was a perfect fit to my kohler toilet. Quick & easy. I watched a YouTube video to learn what to do & it was done in like 5 minutes

The product was shipped immediately, accurately, and completely... Bravo Vallvater & Amazon...Unfortunately, I already knew the part number and product description because this part breaks often (due to a bad design)... it is my third time replacing it... my second time through Amazon...As a defensive move, I've now got a spare part in my workshop awaiting the next time this parts plastic parts break.Bottom line, if you need this part, Amazon and Vallvater are great.

Affordable and a good replacement.It is pretty stiff with lifting or closing the seat. But also feels a lot more sturdier than the original. My original broke while sitting on the top lid while it was closed. It would always feel loose while eventually one day it just snapped while I reached for something. So this replacement feels like it’s firm in place, no wiggle toilet seat.

Although the instructions did not state, you have to remove the bottom plate of the spring device (pictured, old one I replaced) in order to install the device between the toilet seat hinge holes. Don’t try to jam it in place like I tried. Thankfully I didn’t force it. The black “ends” that go in and through the seat / cover holes will not move out of the way until you access them under the plate. That plate has the two stop barriers that hold each spring device in place (once you’ve attached the seat and cover).Once you push them inward you can then install the device through the holes of the seat and cover. THEN(!) and only then should you put the platic plate back in place.It’s nice that each spring cartridge only fits one way on one side of the seat/cover. Although the instructions said they’d be marked “right” and “left” I saw no such markings.Once assembled and installed it’s a good tight fit. It’ll save you at least $15 over buying a whole new slow close seat, which can run to $80 or more.I couldn’t find a new slow close seat for any price that several buyers warned were junk/loose/defective/poorly designed.Happy shopping!
