I didn’t think a footrest would make much of a difference—but this one absolutely has.I work from home full-time and spend most of my day at a desk. By mid-afternoon, I used to notice my lower back and hips getting sore, even with a decent chair. This footrest has helped more than I expected. It’s firm enough to give real support but soft enough that it doesn’t feel rigid or awkward. You can use it with or without shoes, but I usually go barefoot or wear socks and it still feels great.What I appreciate most is the adjustability. You can add or remove the bottom layer depending on your setup, and it’s stable either way. I’ve also started flipping it over and using it as a little rocker when I need to move around without leaving my seat.It’s light, washable, and easy to move from my desk to the couch if I’m working in a different spot. If you’re at your desk for hours like I am, this is one of those under-the-radar things that just makes the day easier.

I’ve always loved keeping my feet elevated and used a wooden foot stool for years. When I upgraded my desk, I figured it was time to upgrade my foot rest too—and I’m so glad I chose the ComfiLife Foot Rest!This thing is seriously comfortable. I don’t really use any of the alternate positions it offers, but the one I do use stays perfectly in place and provides just the right amount of support. It’s plush and soft—almost like having a pair of Oofos under my feet while they’re elevated. An absolute game-changer for long work sessions.Highly recommend if you’re looking to add a little comfort (and a lot of support) to your desk setup!

Well-built, good materials, only complaint is the rubber could be more grippy.

I ordered this foot rest to replace a foot rest I've used at work for the past several years. This particular foot rest, by Comfilife, was highly recommended by Wirecutter, which is why I decided to get it. I've submitted a photo of my old foot rest (on the right) vs. the one from ComfiLife (on the left). You will notice that there is a substantial height difference, with Comfilife being much higher. Note that it opens, so it can be used at a lower level (but it's flat). It took a day to adjust to the new, higher rest. But I've compensated by sitting a little differently in my work chair.It is sturdiness, yet soft. The covering can be removed and washed. I love the way it feels! It's definitely an upgrade from my original one.One other comment is that I chose the teardrop shape. I'm not sure how I feel about it. If done again, I'd likely get the classic. If I was at home in a more relaxed position, I might like the teardrop. But since I'm using this at work for ergonomic reasons, I'm not sure the teardrop shape is the best one.That being said, I'm very happy with my purchase. If you have back or hip problems at work, definitely consider getting a foot rest!! Once again, Wirecutter hasn't let me down with this recommendation!

Great product; everything came as advertised and I would say even better because I didn't anticipate how soft the material would be nor how comfortable the rocking feature with the teardrop version would feel. It has enough height adjustability for my needs and the grippy texture at the bottom and form of it for a comfortable and stable rock, again, is so much better than the old school textbooks I was using before.

Very light in weight but very comfy. Haven't tried it out in the 'rocker' mode yet (stationary mode feels good). Plus, the shipping time hearkens back to the original Prime era. Ordered on Friday, delivered on Monday (and I live in Hawai'i)!!

I love this footrest!!! I actually sigh when I use it. It’s soft and is exactly as pictured. I’m going to buy them as gifts for my friends who own their own businesses.

I had to jump on here and write a review because I can’t believe the difference this is has already made for me. I took a chance and purchased this foot rest during Prime Days. It was delivered the next day, which is already amazing to report.Anyway, I have never used one of these things before so I have nothing to compare this to. But, I am newly working from home and knew I needed to upgrade my whole desk situation fast as my current ergonomics are pretty bad.I took this foot rest out of the box and laid it on the floor with the plastic still on since I had no idea if I was going to keep it. However! WOW. This foot rest literally elevated my body and posture immediately. I could tell the fatigue in my feet disappeared only a few minutes into using it. I’m actually writing this review while still sitting in the same position!Anyway, something worth mentioning: I purchased a new seat cushion on Prime Days as well since my desk chair has seen better days. I kept hoping the cushion would feel comfy under my bum and thighs but it kept hitting me weirdly. So I began the process to return the cushion but realized that I had not tried the cushion out with the foot rest!So, I plopped the foot rest down on the floor and plopped the seat cushion in my chair. I sat down and BINGO! The foot rest immediately lifted my lower body to an appropriate position and height, and that new seat cushion feels amazing. It’s a perfect fit. I am ecstatic… it’s the little things, you know? I’m now keeping the seat cushion AND this foot rest. So before you return or throw out your cushions, consider elevating your body first with a foot rest!Also, another side note: it’s worth mentioning that of course this foot rest will vary per person, that's understandable. For reference, I am 5’4, weigh around 160 and have all of my lower body weight on this thing. It is solid. It is not sliding around. Also, my feet have good spacing between them and around them too as they rest on the foot rest. It is durable and high quality from what I can tell… and I am realizing that 20 minutes into this writing, the swelling in my legs is down!So please do yourself a favor: don’t overlook your lower back and feet when you’re setting up your desk at home. You really should consider purchasing something like this if you plan on sitting for hours. I’m going to buy one for my dear friend who just found out that she and her hubby are expecting their first child! I just know she’s going to appreciate feeling the immediate relief in her feet like I did. I hope this was helpful.
