Sturdy, easy to assemble, great value
I wanted a wooden pergola or a metal gazebo. Everything I liked was way past my budget. I started searching for large umbrellas with weighted bases and even some of them came close to $1k or slightly more. I read reviews on this one and it is mostly positive even though there aren’t many. That’s why I’m doing this, so I can add to the positive reviews; because there aren’t enough. It came without damage, with all its parts, and the delivery person even took it to the backyard for me. My son and I couldn’t get to the assembly until night time, so we assembled it in the dark with just our solar lights in the background and our iPhone lights. It took maybe an hour just cause we had the light issue. The pictures were enough for us to follow the directions. 13 mile per hour winds today and it’s holding up just fine. It sways, but not in a way that would make me think it’s going to break or topple over. I would like to note that this is a very large umbrella. It is true to size. Measure 10’x13’ on the ground to see the amount of coverage you will have. I bought a separate base and umbrella cover. It all came up to just under $500 total. The separate base is necessary. I’ve read reviews where people use flagstones to weigh the base down. It is more decorative if that’s what you’re going for. This umbrella provides shade during the more unforgiving California summer days and makes eating outdoors enjoyable. It’s pretty fantastic. I only wish it came in more colors.

Great in the wind, the rain, and all around!
The media could not be loaded. I looked at dozens of umbrellas and this one surpassed them all. Not only is the construction far more solid that I expected but it's also holding up against high winds and torrential rain. I definitely didn't expect that!!!After reading the reviews I knew the umbrella would at least be water repellant. But when I saw there was a torrential rain storm coming I was dying to put it to the test. It's been pouring buckets now for over 6 hours now and as I stand underneath it I don't feel a single drop of rain-totally waterproof! Whether it's ability to stay water proof holds up over the years is something I'll have see, for now I'm super impressed. The wind was my other main concern. Several reviews mentioned this thing swaying in the wind but for me it's staying steady as can be. Maybe there'll be a few inches of sway during heavy gusts but that's about it. Certainly this umbrella won't stand up to a hurricane but for everyday wind and even strong gusty wind it's doing great. NOTE: one reviewer said this umbrella would do better if it had a top vent... IT DOES HAVE A TOP VENT. At least the 10 by10 square model does. The heavy base is NOT something I needed. Since I put this on my wooden deck I simply used the pre-drilled holes in the included stand to screw it right Into the wood. It's not budging an inch. I suppose you could even do this on a concrete patio but for a grassy surface you'd definitely want the weighted base.Set took me (and me alone with no help) an hour. It's fairly easy and the instructions were clear enough. Lifting the main umbrella and post up onto the base pole was a bit difficult and will require some strength if you don't have someone assisting you. I haven't tested the light out yet so can't comment there.Raising and lowering the umbrella is an easy task. I'm 5'6" and Im just tall enough to raise it to its max height. Someone shorter might need a steps tool for this. Swiveling the umbrella is also easy and simply requires stepping on the release lever to make it swivel. My advise would be to stop looking at thise 600-1000 dollar umbrellas. I really can't imagine getting that much more for all the extra cash. This is just a terrific deal on an umbrella that checks all the boxes.

Doesn’t look strong, lights not working,2 small holes in fabric and a weird remote 🧐
Light bars were not working on arrival, husband looked at wiring and the 2 wires for the light bars were not even attached🙄 (2 wires in one) and the top part for “clicking” the connections was 😞 .Red connector is for middle light, white connector on the right of the Red connector for the light bars.Black connector (on the left of red one) is not in use.Instead of going trough the hassle of a return (big item which requires usps pickup unless you have a truck with a 6 foot bed) husband soldered (40+ years experience) the 2 wires to the red and white part where it’s soldered. All works fine.— Why on earth is there a “remote” if you cannot use it?? It will NOT work when you take it off the inside where it’s placed, just a weird thing for charging the lights, so odd!Would have given 4 or 5 stars if all would work and no damages..

This is the patio umbrella to have!
My husband put this together by himself, easy assembly but very heavy! You definitely need the weights to place on the feet. It will not stand on its own! We purchased the 4 piece weights from Amazon that clip around the feet and you put water or sand in them. The solar lights are an added extra we didn’t know we couldn’t live without. We are the talk of the town. The umbrella looks like a UFO on our deck, so cars slow down on our back road to check it out. That’s a win!

Lights have three options
The media could not be loaded. I was curious, if all the lights will be on all the time. But looks like there’s an ambient option as well.Overall the it looks good quality.Let me update the review after testing in a windy day during the day.
