First impressions are important.
We all know that first impressions are everything. So when I received my Blackrapid strap and my initial expectations were exceeded I knew I was in for a treat. The strap came well packaged, and you can tell the manufacturer is proud of their product. All of the connections are high quality, the padding in the shoulder strap is supple and breathable, and it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I have a Nikon D500 and primarily shoot with the Nikkor 200-500mm lens, which if you know anything about this lens you know it’s a 6lb behemoth. This strap, which is designed to be worn cross body attached super easily to the lens foot of my 200-500 lens (spun so the foot faces upward like a handle). It makes this 7lb set up feel like 2lbs. I haven’t gotten it out in the field yet, but I can tell it’s a purchase well made. Very satisfied. Highly recommend.

Still going strong after 1 year!
BLACKRAPID Sport Breathe Original Camera Sling Right-handed Design - This harness has held up great for over a year. I took it on an 8 month deployment overseas and used it almost every day. No issues. The mounting system is very robust and never let me down. I've climbed up and down vertical ladders, through tight passages and shot in every kind of inclement weather imaginable and the strap still functions 100%. I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a sturdy and trustworthy shoulder harness.-JT

Works great for securing the camera while doing other things where you kneel, bend, twist, etc
Pro's: it comes with a rugged quick on/off clip if you need to use the camera without a strap. Also, the camera can be "locked" low or even behind you so that it doesn't swing around if your moving around. When doing this, you need the small underarm strap attached in order for the pad to stay on your shoulder when you bend over - which is not as inconvenient as you might think. Yes, the small strap is fully removable if you wish.Cons: none, really.Things to know: The 1/4" hook attachment is heavy duty. But, because it is attached to the bottom of your camera or long lens, the camera will not sit flat on a surface. I keep an ARCA style plate permanently on the camera with a built in, fold able hook. This solved the "sit flat" problem, and also allows moving the camera from strap to tripod in about a minute. Very handy.

Use with a Sigma 150-600
I was looking for a strap to carry and have as a backup for my very large lens. This strap works great. I use a QD connect on the end of it and I feel comfortable while walking around with my equipment. The ability to lock the slider from moving so your camera doesn’t swing back and forth is great.

Super comfortable, but no pocket...
Absolutely LOVE this strap!!! It is by far the most comfortable camera strap I've ever used. I don't even hardly feel it. My camera's weight doesn't pull it out of place cause the shoulder strap keeps it nice and stable! I've used this for 2 weeks of full camera days now and it's incredibly comfortable, I can wear it all day. My one and only huge complaint... no zipper pocket for a backup battery or SD card! The strap cushion is so big that I feel like it could absolutely fit one and it's shocking that there isn't one in the design! It's the only flaw! That little zipper pocket is a huge benefit for me to not have to constantly carry my gear backpack because I can move around freely knowing I've got backup power and memory space. Please add the pocket! Otherwise an amazing strap!

Construction and design are excellent
If you're even considering buying this strap, do it. It has changed my photography world. Very well constructed and well designed. Perfect all around.

I love this strap
I love this strap and how it distributes the weight of the camera and lens over the shoulder better than a regular shoulder or neck strap. It appears to be well made and includes the FR-5 attachment point as well as the safety tether. I have a double strap similar to this, but wanted a single strap and this seemed pretty good. I will order a second FR-5 for my zoom lens foot. I wish I bought this sooner. Update: I still love the strap and will continue to use it. However, after several days using it, I decided I didn't like the carabiner clip and eye attachment. The carabiner is slow to move the safety, unscrew the lock ring, and unclip, then reverse the procedure to reattach the strap to a lens. (I attach the strap to the body when using a standard zoom, and to the lens when using a telephoto zoom.) I decided to get a MagPul QD connector as I have a Really Right Stuff L plate on the body with a QD socket. I really like the QD system, it's secure, and so much faster to push the button to release the body or lens, and also is lower profile than the carabiner/eye setup. I do use the BlackRapid safety strap as added security. I will buy a Kirk plate with QD for the lens as RRS does not make one short enough to be practical on my zoom lens foot. It only took a few minutes to unstitch the strap, remove the hardware and replace the carabiner with the QD connector, and put it all back together again. Maybe BlackRapid will someday sell a version with a QD connector instead of the carabiner.
