Effective protection
Prevented damage to bumper of car, in a tight parking situation, against a stone wall. Solid rubber construction with fluorescent strip, most effective at night

Does the job
The product had a very strong smell of creosote but as it was for use outside that didn't matter. Easy to fit and now prevents the car door from banging on the side wall of the house. You probably wouldn't want to use this in an enclosed space due to the strong odour of creosote

Very useful But could have done with washers and screws / bolts too
This is a very easy to mount, quite long and very heavy duty bumper / buffer that works brilliantly to stop your car door smacking against a wall or your bumper hitting the back of the garage.I’ve using mine on a side wall to stop the car doors hitting the brick wall: t he drove is only 14” wider than the cars, so even if you park right over to one side there’s barely any space to escape the car; if you’ve got a passenger you’ve got no chance of you both getting out and you have to let them out before you park!Anyway, I had a couple of the cheaper, small bumper type things you see on Amazon and eBay but for your car doors, they are just too small: you have to be so exact in your parking position that it’s ridiculous. Also, if you have two cars and they are different lengths, getting those little bumpers in a place where both cars’ doors will always hit is impossible.I bought this because it’s pretty long and wide so it allows both cars, no matter which order they are parked, to get the benefit of the bumper protecting their doors.Mounting this thing is easy, but it’s heavy so you need decent bolts / screws. Because the screw holes are quits big you will also very likely need washers (to stop the screws going through the holes after it’s mounted - otherwise people will just pull the thing off the wall easily).Mounting was easy; it has been up a couple of months and it’s still perfect. It’s soft, but not so soft that it will drop to bits. It’s not too hard either, so it won’t dent your door if it swings into it in the wind. Despite this, I ran two lengths of black, sticky rubberised draught excluder along the two raised humps; this just softens the rubber a little - it’s pretty hard stuff, like cats eyes are made of - if you push it with your finger nail it’s difficult to leave an impression. I thought that rather than risk deforming my car door edge (it’s pretty thin if you look at it, the edge of a car door) this softer rubber would add some absorption and reduce the chance of a dent. I doubt it would dent your door BUT better safe than sorry. This self adhesive rubber strip has stayed on just fine, but it’s in a sheltered place and the house stops it getting rain or snow on it so maybe this would not work so well in other more exposed places… it’s worth doing tough if you have some spare rubber excluder strip. It looks discrete enough when the cats aren’t there and it’s easy to see in the dark because the reflective strips light it up in your headlights when you pull on to the drive. It’s a decent bit of kit and I’d certainly buy one again if I moved house.

Solid barrier, is suitable but poor bolts.
Liked the bumper, it's solid, reflective and durable, will last ages and resist hard knocks. Disliked the supplied bolts as the method used to expand the resisting tubes like wall plugs was difficult to gauge for depth and width. Plus, the bolt heads disappear inside the apertures molded for them, so tightening them with a ratchet is near impossible .

Has to return
Smell so powerful and chemical we had to return, just sitting in garage waiting to be fixed to wall. No one wanted to go in as so bad, returned. Maybe over months or years smell will go but seeing as we use garage for other things not prepared to wait . Returned.
