The great M&D quality you expect
I was so nervous to order my 4 year old a magic kit but even after we talked about illusions (vs magic) he was set on it. Melissa and Doig toys will beat out the cheap “get 47 items for $10” junk any time. They nailed it on this with illusions that are exciting for him and high enough quality and easy enough to manage and remember that he feels successful. Honestly, I was impressed they pulled it off this well. My six year old also has fun with it but I can see how older than six might feel it’s too young for them.

Perfect for Beginner Magicians
This is an awesome set for beginner magicians. It includes a great variety of tricks that are easy for kids to learn and perform. As expected from Melissa & Doug, the quality is excellent, and the tricks have held up well through lots of use. This set is really fun and a fantastic product for any aspiring young magician!

My 7yr old grandson loves this kit.
Melissa & Doug products are always made out of sturdy materials and are made age appropriate and are easy to learn tricks and then preform them all on their own. Very happy with this purchase

Terrific beginner magic set
My grandson saw a magic show while we were on vacation & was fascinated. Of course he wants to make his sister disappear - LOL - and saw someone in half, but we convinced him that he needs to start with some “safe magic” tricks first. He’s learning some tricks and is so happy to display his new found skills whenever family and friends come around.

Great Beginner Set
I do amateur magic for friends and family and my grandson was interested in being able to do tricks. I have purchased him three children's kits and the quality of the mterials are better in this kit by far. There is a simple optical illusion trick with rabbits. It is easy for a very young child to do without any skills but should be very obvious to an adult. The cardboard is heavy but can still be easily bent. I had to worrk with my grandson for the hand motion to "stretch" the card. The color changing hankies was wasy to change and conceal the gimmick in his smaller hands. The change to the large card makes a sound when the gimmick changes which I am working to eliminate but at a distance and talking during the change will conceal the sound. The disappearing box was difficult for him because his hands were too small but it worked fine for me. The only bad trick was the magic wand trick. It was cheaper and difficult for him to do because there are no stops and the white caps would pull off in his hands. Overall a good buy for a budding magician. Note: none of the props are examinable by an audience member because they can figure out the trick.

Not all magic tricks
My family was having a magic show and we needed magic tricks for my kids to perform. A few of the tricks in here are only optical illusions and they don't really work to perform. However, there were a few good performance tricks in this box.The quality of about half of the tricks is fantastic. But the other half are really cheap and will not hold up. Usually this brand produces good quality things, but half of these are not the quality I expected with the brand. One or two of the tricks were easy enough for my 2 year old to do with some help. Most of them are really meant for 6+, even though it says 4+. Most 4 year olds probably couldn't do them by themselves.

Perfect for 4 year old plus
They love showing me tricks and do it again and again… so be careful if you don’t want it be amazed again and again with same tricks. Best part: these are simple tricks that really work for the little ones hands and mind
