Easy to install, seems good quality for the price.
Quite easy to install if one follows instructions. The print looks good for normal applications. I have just installed it and it works, I will update the review if the printer fails in the next months. Perfect size for home use. Seems to be good quality for the price, my only concern is that the cartridge holder may eventually break. It is a bit hard to displace and it is made of thin plastic. I bought the printer during Prime Day because I was tired of paying a fortune for HP cartridges that sometime expired before I could use them, so the printer refused them.

Nice Cheap Printer
Basic but gets the job done. For those with little patience of using the number pad like an old school phone for letters, it might be a deal breaker. But since it’s dirt cheap, I think it’s excellent

Ink issues
The Canon PIXMA TR4720 All-in-One Wireless printer has been a recent addition to my home office, and after using it for a while, I'm ready to share my thoughts. While it certainly offers good value for its price and generally performs well, one significant drawback prevents it from achieving a higher rating, leading me to give it a 3/5.First and foremost, the appeal of the TR4720 lies in its affordability. It's a very budget-friendly option for an all-in-one printer that includes printing, scanning, copying, and faxing capabilities, along with wireless connectivity. For basic home use, printing documents, occasional photos, and scanning, it performs quite reliably. The print quality for everyday documents is crisp and clear, and photo prints, while not professional-grade, are certainly acceptable for casual use.Setting up the wireless connection was straightforward, allowing me to print from various devices around the house without needing direct cables. The compact design is also a plus, fitting neatly into smaller spaces without being obtrusive. For the price point, the functionality it offers is commendable. However, the major Achilles' heel of this printer, and the sole reason for its middling rating, is the incredibly small amount of ink it comes with. The starter cartridges provided are almost comically tiny. It feels like you're barely getting started before the ink warning lights come on, forcing you to purchase replacements almost immediately. This initial cost saving on the printer itself quickly diminishes when you factor in the frequent and necessary purchase of new ink cartridges. It's a common tactic among printer manufacturers, but it's particularly noticeable and frustrating with this model. This issue means that while the printer is cheap to buy, it can become surprisingly expensive to run if you print with any regularity. It feels like a bait-and-switch, where the low upfront cost is offset by the need for frequent and costly ink replacements. The Canon PIXMA TR4720 is a perfectly functional and affordable all-in-one wireless printer for light, occasional use. It works well and handles basic tasks with ease. However, the stingy starter ink cartridges are a significant drawback that impacts its overall value and user satisfaction. If you plan on doing more than very sporadic printing, be prepared to invest heavily in replacement ink.

Works Well for what it is
Does not have automatic double sided printing. You have to do double sided printing manually with this printer. And the ink supply runs out pretty quickly. But it is a cheap laser printer. And most cheap laser printers have a limited ink supply. So it is pretty normal for a cheap laser printer. The photos are pretty good for a cheap laser printer. But again, do not expect to get a lot of prints off the limited ink supply. If you want a lot of printed projects that use a lot of ink, get a large capacity printer. They are more expensive than laser printers. But they can give you more printouts before you need to put in more ink. Unfortunately, with some large capacity printers you have to refill the ink yourself because they do not have easy to replace cartridges like the laser printers. And avoid recyclable or reusable ink cartridges. They can leak and ruin your printer. This printer is a good quality laser printer, despite the manual double sided printing. It will function as well as any other laser printer brand and print nice quality pictures. Just remember, is a laser printer. They will mess up your prints at times due to ink clogs, human error, and occasionally internet connection problems. It is something that they will all do. But this printer will scan and print very clear pictures and documents. Canon also sells cameras. They know good quality photos when they see them. Try out their cameras sometime too. They are wonderful once you learn about them and are not too complicated to use.

Reliable, great value for moderate use
I’ve had this printer since 2023 and it’s been reliable so far (I’m hoping I don’t jinx myself in writing this review). Easy to set up, scanner works great- both the feeder and flatbed. Scans and prints quickly (scan not as fast as print). No issues at all with print quality or paper jams. Copy feature works well, too. Ink cartridges are easy to replace. I don’t need to replace them often, maybe 2-3 a year but I use the scanner a lot more often than printer. Ink cartridges are around $20-$30. I can’t speak on how efficient this machine would work for frequent use, but knowing how reliable it’s been so far for my moderate home office use I have good expectations that it would hold up well. Overall I’m very happy with this purchase, especially at the price point.
