Good Multi-Function Printer
My first unit had a problem with sending faxes. It would stop transmitting on the 4th page. Worked with a Canon tech over the phone and eventually he said something is wrong with the fax module and sent me a whole new printer. The new printer worked just fine faxing and scanning as many pages as I needed. It was a bit of a hassle setting up and tearing down two units, but I am very happy with the printer and recommend it.

Canon TR4720 works well in Linux
The TR4720 was a breeze to setup in PCLinuxOS. Just had to download and uncompress the cnijfilter2-6.30-1-rpm.tar.gz and then install the RPM file. I than setup the printer in CUPS. Took me less then 15 minutes to be all setup and printing.I am impressed by the speed and the print and color quality. I am disappointed that they do not include a USB cable, which is a USB 2.0 A/B I would recommend the TR4720 to anyone using Linux for a simple and straight forward printer when it comes to setup. It is well worth the money.

Works Well for what it is
Does not have automatic double sided printing. You have to do double sided printing manually with this printer. And the ink supply runs out pretty quickly. But it is a cheap laser printer. And most cheap laser printers have a limited ink supply. So it is pretty normal for a cheap laser printer. The photos are pretty good for a cheap laser printer. But again, do not expect to get a lot of prints off the limited ink supply. If you want a lot of printed projects that use a lot of ink, get a large capacity printer. They are more expensive than laser printers. But they can give you more printouts before you need to put in more ink. Unfortunately, with some large capacity printers you have to refill the ink yourself because they do not have easy to replace cartridges like the laser printers. And avoid recyclable or reusable ink cartridges. They can leak and ruin your printer. This printer is a good quality laser printer, despite the manual double sided printing. It will function as well as any other laser printer brand and print nice quality pictures. Just remember, is a laser printer. They will mess up your prints at times due to ink clogs, human error, and occasionally internet connection problems. It is something that they will all do. But this printer will scan and print very clear pictures and documents. Canon also sells cameras. They know good quality photos when they see them. Try out their cameras sometime too. They are wonderful once you learn about them and are not too complicated to use.

Not a great printer for light usage
I ordered this printer in late 2023, but my older HP printer mysteriously fixed itself, so I kept this in the box until about 6 months ago. I liked it at first. The print quality was good, connectivity was good, and it did its job for the light amount of printing I do.A month ago, it lost connection to my wireless network and I couldn’t fix it. I switched to wired system and fell back onto my old HP for wireless printing. Last week, the printer quality took a dive. The print is doubled and blurry. I went through the maintenance steps, installed new Canon cartridges, and restarted it. No improvement in print quality and now I get a paper jam with every print job. I did the troubleshooting, without improvement.I realize this is a cheap printer, but I really expected more than 6 months use.Today I ordered a new low-end HP as a backup to my old one.

Canon for home use
Canon printers are the best for home use. I've tried HP and Epson printers and there were always issues whether it was bad WIFI apps for phones that were unreliable (HP), outrageous replacement cartridge prices or frequent paper jams. Canon printers work well with humans who still use laptops and desktops, not just smart phones and tablets. I use the Canon printer with Linux and Windows OS. Linux automatically picks up the Canon printer... no installation required. Windows requires driver install, but it's quick and easy. Easy to configure Canon printer to local WIFI. Cartridges last for several months with moderate use and replacement cartridges don't break the bank. Being able to also copy and scan is convenient, too. Color and black and white print quality is excellent for an ink jet printer. Highly recommended.

Great value fornthe money even with a few shortcomings
For the money it really can’t be beat. They don’t last forever, some flimsy plastic parts and a pain and I mean a royal pain to get connected for wireless printing bit prints well and copies and scans with an auto feeder at a ridiculously low price. Both color and black and white prints look good. Again for the price can’t be beat.

Good quality printer as it seems so far
The printer is very proficient so far. Was replacing an older HP that was refusing to print more than a couple papers even after new ink was put in. Cheaper to buy this than even more ink or to have someone look at it unfortunately. This also works as a copier/scanner and a fax machine, which I have no use for because I don’t have a phone line. I like the fact that it stays on standby so I don’t have to go downstairs to turn it on when I want to have it print something for me. I can even ask Alexa to have it print something from my phone which I find awesome! Lol I am easily amused I guess! Doesn’t take up a lot of room either. Apparently can print on envelopes too. Haven’t tried that out yet. Has some cool things on a website for printing posters that papers inside the box tout.Super easy to connect printer with my phone. No issues at all. Also had to download an app which was also no problem as long as you have a smart phone with app storage.
