Authentic Models Porcelain Phrenology Head Bust

This bust is awesome. I saw an original L N Fowler phrenology head in Seattle a few years ago, and this one is an exact copy. I mean exact, down to the smallest detail, including the crackle finish, right down to the markings on the bottom. It' s perfect. I was allowed to hold an original in Seattle, and the size, weight, color, and appearance are identical to the the late nineteenth century version which was designed to cure all people of all ills. I have a couple of these, but this one is by far the best and most accurate. The design is substantial , so I conclude, it will last well into the next century, as the bust I saw did. I bought 3 of these, and they all had some minor variation to them, in terms of painting and whatnot. With that said; they were still true to the product images, but it gave the bust a handmade look that was really nice. The bust is a good size, around 1:3 scale of an adult head, and it looks and feels very professional. I am happy with my purchase and I would definitely recommend it if anyone is looking for a good phrenology head replica.

I bought one of these to show to my criminology students, just for fun. I was surprised by how nice it is! It was larger than I pictured it would be, heavier than I expected (does NOT feel cheaply made), and looks exactly like the originals (if a little smaller). It is definitely going on display in my office (not what I originally expected lol).Size-wise, it's about the same size as my 2 year-old (from the chest up).

Excellent item. Only word of warning - in the produce photos it looks a bit like maybe its made of a textured ceramic that hasn't been fully polished. This is not the case - its very smooth, but it has a weird subsurface pattern that looks a little like spider cracks. I sort of like it, but it was very surprising to see for the first time in person.

My porcelain model arrived on time and was extremely well packaged. I had been concerned about this because the head is made of porcelain. However I needn't have worried since it arrived without a scratch. This was a gift for someone and he really enjoyed it. This may not be a present for everyone, but it is truly a unique gift for people of certain professions or interest.

I ordered the phrenology head and was no disappointed with my purchase! The detail, lines, and shape of the bust are subtle, but add a touch of class and artistic flare to any home decor trying to make a statement. This product has a good weight and is easy to clean.

It is a cool bust. I got it for Christmas for my office. Problem is my bust is crooked. The lines identifying the areas were not laid properly, and the writing on the front is not straight (like the rest of the diagram it slopes down from right to left). Some lines are broken or overlap too far, which some error is fine, but who ever produced it was careless as the whole diagram that is overlaid the head is noticeably not straight. It was a gift and something I have on display for fun so it is fine for my purposes, but the craftsmanship isn't great, and had I bought it for myself I would have asked to exchange it for one of better quality.

I've seen these in shops for years and finally decided to give one a home. As I age and find my Random Access Memory slower and slower I thought a backup brain would be a good idea! It's nicely crafted, heavy and well balanced and a great conversation piece. Two heads are always better than one, right?
