I only just received this book and have only looked at the outside of the book and the first few pages before the title page/intro - and Im already in love with it!The dust jacket is made of a transparent, frosted plastic that resembles vellum - a replica of some of the handwriting from the manuscript overlays a print of an illustration from the manuscript. Giving the book a very lovely visceral feel as I pick it up.Upon opening it, there are full page photographs of the a letter written by E L Voynich - to be opened upon their death. It explains, briefly, where the manuscript came from. The photo and print quality are excellent enough that one can enjoy the laid finish of the paper the letter was written on in July of 1930 - and the creases in the paper.I can’t wait to explore the rest of the photos in this book!

…it may seem to merely be a photocopied, albeit beautiful, rendition of the original, but I say, purchase with the understanding that it is absolutely more than that.I use it for scrying… after the book (yep, “the book”!) told me to. If you think it’s pretty for your coffee table, it is. If you’re into more… there’s certainly more to be in for. That’s all I’m going to say on that… happy hunting.

I had read much about this manuscript and, of course, looked at it online, but I wasn’t truly prepared for seeing “the real thing” or at least as close to it as I’ll ever get. Although I had read the dimensions of the original, I was amazed to experience how small the pages actually are, and how packed with text and illustrations. You do need a magnifying glass to examine it, and there is no attempt to enhance the text or pictures, if it is faded in the original, that’s what you see here. The fold outs are great, they give a real sense of what this book is all about. I don’t pretend that I will ever try to “decode” this, but reading along with those who are more qualified than I is something I will do. The essays look top notch as well. Yale is to be thanked for such a meticulous reproduction and for keeping the price reasonable.

This book is beautiful! I love it! These people with poor reviews are expecting the real book to come in the mail! This publication is a gorgeous addition to any library. I am so happy I bought this book!

Don't get me wrong. This is really cool. But part of me was expecting a facimile of the real deal and instead it's a scanned document. It's still VERY NICE, and includes a number of fold-out pages to show spreads, but it's not what I was expecting.

Oh, the mystery . . . !

What an odd document. The printing and binding are very well done. Exactly what I hoped for.
