How thick are these wicks?

I bought the wicks with the understanding from the discription given, that they would fit the lanterns I bought an gave at Christmas.

Is it ok to cut these in half so that i have two pieces that are 1/4 inch wide?

If you cut them in half they will fray and fall apart. I recommend the correct size you need. I have a varity of sizes needed for my different lamps.

Can it be used for candle

They are very thick and wide for a candle wick; I don't imagine them working well. They are meant to soak up the lamp oil and burn, candle wax is a different medium.

Will this burn with citronella?

Most definitely. I rebuilt, refurbished, over a dozen oil lamps. 2 of them are outside with the yellow citronella oil in them. The oil burns dirty, but they work well.
