This fan fit perfectly in our defunct ceiling fan frame and works beautifully.
I purchased this to retrofit a very old Broam ceiling fan that had stopped working all together. A very simple installation and it works beautifully. Very pleased with this item and it is highly recommended.

A Not-So Quiet and Powerful Performer
This fan motor has proven to be a solid replacement option for my old bathroom fan. I opted to get a more powerful fan compared to the rgular 50CFM, which was very quiet. Why not go larger? This one boasts a 70 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) airflow, which is more than adequate for my standard-sized bathroom, effectively clearing out moisture and odors quickly after a shower (as long as you remember to turn it on).Pros:Not-So Quiet Operation: This is a major selling point for me. Compared to my old motor, it's significantly louder. The noise level is now acceptable to give you privacy while in the bathroom. After all, who likes a quiet bathroom, let me answer for you, no one. (especially a hallway bathroom!)Strong Airflow: The 70 CFM rating seems accurate. It effectively removes steam and humidity, preventing mold and mildew buildup. My bathroom now dries much faster after showers.Easy Installation: Replacing the old motor was surprisingly straightforward. The motor fit perfectly into my existing fan housing (be sure to check compatibility before purchasing!). The included instructions were clear and easy to follow. Even someone with basic DIY skills should be able to handle the installation.Affordable Price: Compared to replacing the entire fan unit, just swapping the motor is a much more budget-friendly solution. The BOJACK YJF6178 offers excellent value for the price. If you're comfortable reusing your existing fan housing this motor is definitely worth considering.

Did it work to quickly replace my dead bathroom fan motor without me needing to cut into my ceiling? Yes!Does it sound like a 747 taking off when somebody uses the bathroom? Also yes!Someday I'll have one of those fancy quiet fans with a Bluetooth speaker and mood lighting, but for now, this is the quick, easy, and economical fan replacement that works Ok.

My Broan needed modification
The fan works great and it does move more air than my 20 year old stock Broan motor. The impeller was larger on this unit but I had no trouble fitting it into the Broan housing. One thing I did encounter was the mounting bolts were on the opposite side of my stock motor. The motor shaft has to be on the same side as the fan blades to work in the Broan I have. I took the motor mount bolts loose and rotated and I had no problem mounting. I was afraid it would reverse air flow, but that was not the case. I put a plastic bad up near the intake and the bag was sucked to the fan. I found no clearance problems after the rotation. The new motor does increase the sound, but I would expect that with the increased air flow. It works great after the modification and I would buy again.

“Universal” but bolts might be opposite direction
For my fan housing - the bolts were the wrong way. I was able to reverse it (remove bolts and flip the whole stick / motor and bolts) but that makes it spin the opposite direction. Like another commenter said, it seems to still be sucking air up instead of blowing down, being reversed, but I am not sure this is going the direction it’s supposed to be going now . It is blowing harder and a lot louder, hopefully that means it’ll have better air movement, but if it’s not quite running the correct direction that lag all be moot. I’m questioning my purchase

Will it last as long as the original one?
The picture is of the broken motor unit. The replacement was exact but I wonder if it will last the nearly 40 years that the one it replaced did. Great value for my money, I didn't have to replace the entire enclosure, just the motor and squirrel cage.
