Did not come with English directions but there are some online

It is very lightweight. The instructions are in Japanese ONLY. I did find an instruction book in English on the internet though. No matter what I do the stitches are a little off and the little thing sounds like a freight train running though the house. It is very portable, less than 5 pounds. The masks that I am making are 3 layers with ribbon ties and the machine can sew through all of that with no problem. Oh, the box actually turns into a carrying case...has a little handle at the top.

It’s been about a year I think. The machine has been officially decommissioned in my household. I’ll write a short, but honest review. Out of the box it was wonderful, as the build quality is incredibly nice. But the issues start when using any more than two layers of fabric, which I do quite often. Such as sewing a waistband into a skirt. It often jammed up, and certain threads would bunch up in the machine. And at this point i think the timing is off and I can’t catch the bobbin anymore. Maybe it’s a skill issue, but problems keep coming up with the machine. Very sad, since it’s cute 🥺

I should have read the other reviews more carefully. First, the instructions are ONLY in Japanese so I had to rely on the pictures. It sewed fine for my granddaughter for a few minutes but then the bobbin tangled up. I’m still in the process of making it right. I should have just bought a used, better quality machine

This was the perfect machine for our great grand daughter. My wife has a large Janome so we decided to buy a smaller one. It is a great starter machine for any child. Easy to use, powerful, and gets the job done without problems

Very small not the size I expected.

I bought this for my 8 yr old granddaughter. She has sewn on my top of the line machines with and without speed controls. I own many sewing machines, some that did not come with manuals. This machine, however, is a bit quirky. It has no corresponding manual in English. There are manuals available for other Hello Kitty models that can be referenced. The foreign language manual that comes with the machine has usable graphics for an experienced machine user. A child will need someone to sit with them/thread it for them, etc. Although the bobbin cover shows how the bobbin needs to be placed in the hook assembly, the bobbin thread path is a bit tricky but doable with patience. On the plus side, it sews with a good stitch quality. All stitches on the dial work. It has a nice protective presser foot. It comes with three Class 15 bobbins, USA power cord, foot pedal, one needle, non English manual and quick start guide, and a hand sewing needle threader. The motor is louder than anticipated. It does not have a light, power switch, or speed control on the machine. It has a steady speed, not very fast when foot pedal is fully engaged. The dial stitch selector is a good choice for a first time sewist vs. a push button stitch selector with separate stitch map. It is very lightweight, which is good for children. It seems like a high price for this machine and I'm apprehensive about it's longevity.
