Fabulous 👌
First time for quite a while I found myself completely invested in every character. Incredibly well written, I felt like I was there with them.Couldn't put it down. Recommended.

A bit long but entertaining
I’ve had this on my kindle for a while so decided to give it a go.The chapters are short which means you can read ‘just one more chapter’ before bed and, consequently, the story moves along quickly, but the book is too long, the story is repetitive and slow in places with a lot of padding and feels like a good edit would have sharpened it up.I’ve spent a lot of time in Greece over the years, visiting many smaller island, but the book didn’t capture Greece for me, yes the author mentioned wild thyme and the clear seas but the searing heat, the constant noise of cicadas seemed missing, it felt like it could have been anywhere at all.I know novels aren’t real life but one too many coincidence can tip things into plain silly. There are a lot of coincides in the book, a few too many.My biggest problem is the ending, it’s so close to one of Liane Moriarty novels it felt like the plot had been lifted directly. I’ve not seen anyone else say this so maybe it’s just me.So in summary, an OK beach read, not super challenging but entertaining enough despite some issues.

A hen weekend gone very, very dark...
As soon as I had this unpackaged, One of the Girls by Lucy Clarke shot to the top of my tbr pile and I dived straight in. Barely 24 hours later and I’ve surfaced, the book devoured.Six ‘friends’ head to a Greek island for a hen weekend for Lexi, and the entire novel takes place over those four days as secrets are exposed and the fun, carefree beginning to what should have been an excellent weekend turns dark.Although I struggled to differentiate all six women early on – the story is told from all six points of view, with short sharp chapters wonderfully executed to encourage the reader to keep going – once I had them sorted out the story slotted together easily and I was with them, trailing past the bougainvillea and smelling the lemons on the trees. Plus, I love olives.I have a phenomenally naughty habit of flicking to the end of a paperback – I’m forever trying to stop myself, but I can’t. So I did see the major twist coming – totally my own fault – and even so, I enjoyed the denouement and found the ending very satisfying. This is most definitely an excellent choice if you’re heading for a beach any time soon – perfect holiday read.

Ok read
An easy read. Enjoyed the story line, thought it could have been 100 pages less.

Binge Worthy Read
Got out of the habit of reading since Covid & wanted an easy read that gripped me from the start. This was it 😊 Loved the characters. Loved the twisty mysterious plot (thought I’d figured it out early on but was way off!). Loved the author’s style of writing. Read it in 5 days & it will now always be the book that kick-started my reading habit again 😊

Loved it
I loved this book. Really enjoyed it. Loved the Greek setting for this book. It was a bit slow at the start but it soon got going and I found it to be a very good read.
