Stephen Joseph Unisex Kids Toddler Wallet, Firetruck, 3T, 4T, 5T, 6X, toddler, preschool, school, SJ5201

I've purchased two of these "train wallets" and three other similar wallets by Stephen Joseph (ice cream, solar system and sports) for various kids (ages 5 through 10) and for a Little League gift basket. All these wallets have been really great: functional, durable, kid-friendly, with very cute design themes. These wallets all have a section to hold bills and another to hold coins (this latter feature being one that I found hard to find in kids' wallets). They have held up very well to normal wear and tear and look new even after 18 months of use (not the cheap, trashy vinyl that kids' wallets are often made of). I find that the tri-folds (like this train version, despite the product description which, at the time of this review, indicates that it's a bi-fold) are easier for the kids (and grown-ups) to use since the bills slide in easily and don't need to be perfectly aligned to fit properly. It is a full size wallet, good for allowance and gifted currency. Even though these wallets are bright and kid-themed, my kids are all proud to have them (so they wear well with maturity also).

My son got this wallet for his 4th birthday, and he LOVES it. There is a zippered coin pocket, which my son puts to good use - he stores all his loose change in there, and he takes it all out every so often to play "store" with his money.I consider it "normal sized" in that it is big enough, when opened up, to hold paper money without having to fold up the bills. It is about the size of my husband's wallet, which means, of course, that it is too big to fit into my son's kid-sized pants pockets. But that's okay. It is just the right size for his little boy hands to handle, and he has no reason to actually carry it around anyway. Even if he wanted to bring it somewhere, I would just throw it into his backpack. He is happy keeping his wallet in his "special" drawer of favorite things.This is a tri-fold wallet with a velcro closure. I like it because it is sturdy, cute, and practical. Besides having dedicated sections for paper money and coins, there are also several slots that could be used for cards - a library card, or pretend credit cards.

My toddler has a tendency to take out my cards in my wallet. Thankfully, he has a wallet of his own now. It is super cute, love the design, durable, able to put a bunch of cards in it, good quality.

I bought this wallet for my soon to be 4-year-old son to teach him about spending and saving money. With all of the brilliant designs, he was able to choose his own wallet. It's a sturdy and colorful, perfect for children. The velcro and inside zipper are easy to open. Inside, he keeps quarters and dollars for when he completes big chores. We also keep coupons from our grocery store that allow him to play a spin-the-wheel game after we go shopping. I keep his wallet in my purse with my things so if he wants to buy something, he has to check his wallet. He only has $2 in there but he's really learning! I highly recommend this product to other parents.

Very cute! I purchased two of these (this one and a butterfly one). They are both really cute. They are ease for the kids to handle (4 and 5 year old). They are very well made, I was impressed with the quality of the workmanship, they will hold up nicely for the kids. They really enjoy having their own wallet. I would recommend this product especially for a first wallet.I utilize customer reviews heavily when I am trying to decide on a purchase and consider reviews a valuable tool for us as consumers to make informed choices as to where we spend our money. Sometimes I will come back and give more information should I notice new things along the way. When looking at reviews I do take into consideration personal preference that may not reflect the product itself. My two year old is CONSTANTLY going into my wallet and taking out all of my credit cards and rearranging them. I decided it was time to get her her own wallet. We went on amazon and let her choose which animal she wanted on her wallet. She loves cows, so this was the obvious choice. This wallet is super cute and sturdy, it has held up well so far and my daughter is pretty rough on her stuff. I have her a few of her own "credit cards" and she loves putting them in her wallet and taking them out. There is one slot for credit cards, and there's also a little change slot with a zipper and obviously a place for the cash. This wallet is really adorable, I just wish they made a cow purse to match!

After the success of my son's wallet, I bought this as a gift for a cousin. It has held up well over the years. The velcro is still sticky, the change pocket zipper still seals. No seams have come undone and no wear on the outside edges. Trust me... we have received other wallets as party favors or from the dollar store and those have never made it through one season. According to my sister in law, the airplane pattern is still relevant to our budding aeronautics engineer. For about 6 years we have continued to buy them as 2nd or 3rd year old birthday gifts for new cousins. By that age, the kid has developed their own taste/theme, and they LOVE receiving something picked out ESPECIALLY for THEM. The cash inside diesnt hurt either (#CoolestAuntieEver). There are so many choices available, there hasn't been a repeat yet!I paid full price for these, and it's still a good value! And I will continue to buy them as long as Stephen Joseph puts out new combinations.Since I gave the airplane one away, here is a pic how my son stores his prized posessions.
