6x16 inch Fine Pole Permanent Magnetic Chuck Powerful Sealed Rectangular Chuck for Grinding Machine

When parts come off my CNC plasma table, they need to be cleaned up to remove scale and dross. This vice makes holding the piece easier while using the surface grinder or wire wheel. The magnets are strong enough to hold sheet steel, but not smaller parts that are not flat. Since I bought it primarily to use with the plasma table, it will work fine, but for cleaning up welds, not so much.

Very usefull to hold projects to sand and grind!

I purchased this for my metal shop to set on my downdraft table for cutting and grinding small pieces of metal. However, the magnet is not strong enough to hold small pieces of metal such as bolts, steel rebar, etc. It requires at least a 2-inch wide piece of metal to have enough magnetic power to hold it while grinding or cutting on it. I'll be sending this back and purchasing a vice.

This is a game changer for sanding and polishing metal crafts. It has increased productivity at least 10 fold from when I was using clamps beforehand. I even use it for polishing paint imperfections on my metal works. The only reason I took off a star is that I had to remove a metal tab so unit would sit flush on my table, and it doesn't have a permanent handle/ on/off switch. Instead they provide an Allen Key. It fits and works fine, but I'd rather have a permanent or at least snap in fit type lever to ensure it doesn't fall out or get lost.
