Very disappointed
We had been looking forward to receiving the Air Fryer, and after much research we settled on the Philips model as it was thought to be the best model according to the ratings. We were very disappointed when after receiving it, it stopped working within 20 minutes. We live in Portugal, and had waited a long time for its arrival from the USA, and now we had all the problems of packaging it up to send it back to Amazon I must say that Amazon was fantastic, as soon as they knew what had happened they authorised it to be returned and refunded us. The total cost was close to $400 with all associated costs and we received the credit within 5 days, for which we were very relieved. Full marks to Amazon, pity about the reliability of the Philips machine. We paid for the Cookbook as it was very good and will come in handy if we decide to buy again.

Great cookbook but...
This was such a hard book for me to rate. I mean, it's full of so many recipes that I think people in general want to make. The food sounds good, the ingredients are readily available, and the directions most of the time are clear. What I don't like is there is not an accompanying photo of the food, and some of the recipes have you using the stove top too. GASP! I feel like if your write an air fryer cookbook, your recipes should only use the air fryer. Maybe I expect too much? Also, I think you're missing a huge market to label this a "Phillips" air fryer cookbook. I have an air fryer, but not a Phillips. You can definitely make these recipes in other air fryers too. The amount of recipes you get is above and beyond, and the quality of recipes I think are superior to other cookbooks by name worthy chefs. I'm looking at you Todd English. I say definitely buy this book, but to the author, please take my suggestions into consideration for your next book.

One of the better ones!!
This is really one of the best Air Fryer cookbooks that I have seen and downloaded. And it is free (right now anyway). I don't have a Phillips Air fryer but you can use these recipes for any of the air fryers. I really like the format of the recipes and they are easy to follow. It is written in American measurements so if you are from the USA you don't have to try to convert from the metric measurements. And most of the cookbooks I have, all have about the same recipes in them. This one has some that I haven't seen in a Air Fryer cookbook before. There are some really great dessert recipes too. Some are everyday type foods and some are a little different so there is something for everyone.I did see a couple typos but nothing that I couldn't work around and figure out. I highly recommend this cookbook and I will definitely use this one!!

Cook book for Phillips Air Fryer
Book has no table of contents making it difficult to find a specific recipe. One recipe I tried was for an egg sandwich. The times and temperature stated burnt the muffin, egg came overcooked, and slice of cheese evaporated. Although there were a variety of recipes, I'm suspicious of the outcome. I would recommend caution is using, checking periodically its progress.

Where are the photos?
There are no photos to speak of in this book. I guess to keep the cost down they eliminated them, but I was disappointed to not see pictures of the prepared foods. Since they always look better than what I produce I suppose it's no big deal, but ... really? Not ONE color photo except the cover. Each chapter has a black and white photo at the chapter beginning.

Nice range. Yummy food.
This book has a nice range. Her recipes are at the easy end of the spectrum. The flavors are mild. There are a lot of editing issues. One recipe calls for a 56 ounce chicken breast. That would be 3 ½ pounds! I’m guessing that should say 5-6 ounces. Another recipe tells you to set the air fryer for 1520 minutes. It should probably say 15-20. Another lists 1-2 shrimp and 1-2 slices of bacon and says it serves four, so I guess that should say 12. But the food was yummy once you decide what it should say. The fried pickles, chicken fingers, and bacon wrapped shrimp were great. We loved them. The old bay fries could use more seasoning, and the empanadas were dry.

Temperature, capacity not right for smaller air fryers.
This cookbook is written for a very large Philips airfryer. I purchased a smaller one and am having to modify portion sizes in order to even get the food in the fryer. Also, most recipes call for setting the fryer at 350 degrees Fahrenheit, but the fryer's digital temp control can not be set at 350. I called Philips to verify that the temperature can be set at 330 degrees, but the next step up is 360. Again, I am having to modify cooking times to adjust to the control limitations. Other than that, the recipes look pretty good.

American use only
All of the recipes were for the American market and all the temperatures were in degrees Fahrenheit and notCelsius. This is not something we would use, and is not for the English market.

Two Stars
Disappointed, for the US market so recipes have ingredients not available in the U.K. Also there are no illustrations.

My Philips AirFryer
Most of the recipes I tried with this fryer turned out excellent. I especially like the fact that it uses very minimal amount of oil. Chicken turns out very crispy. Only negative point about the fryer is that you cannot prepare large quantities especially if you're entertaining more than a few people. Ideal for one or two people or for university students who want to prepare their own meals.
