Burgers' Smokehouse Whole Applewood Smoked Bacon Slabs (Average weight 11 to 13 lbs)

Just got this product in. The package arrived in great condition, sealed in Styrofoam cooler with icepacks. The bacon was still nice and cold, but I did submit feedback that Burgers should include an additional ice pack with the shipment just to be safe. The slab comes sealed in two sections, which makes it easier to divide up and store/freeze. The nice thing with the slab is that you could trim more of the fat if you want, so it gives you options, but I found it to be perfect. The next thing is the smell: the smoky aroma of the Applewood was awesome. I immediately cut 4 1/2" slices off and put on the griddle while I prepped the remainder of the slab for the fridge and freezer. Definitely recommend and hope you give it a try. I first came across Burger's Crazy Thick bacon at Harris Teeter and have been hooked.

Taste wasn't bad but we prefer Hickory smoked

I wanted thick bacon and have ordered thick bacon but it was never thick enough. The slab bacon allowed me to cut to my desired thickness. It helps having a meat slicer and a vacuum machine. After slicing I freeze the bacon until ready to use it, remove a few slices from the bag and re-vacuum and back into the freezer.The apple wood smoke changes the taste to a milder less strong than hickory tasting bacon. With my thicker slices one or two slices is sufficient to satisfy my cravings.

Excellent taste!Buying slabs and slicing at home is the only way to get really thick slices.Used up the first slab - Will re-order today.

I expected to have the smell of bacon frying with the Applewood Smoked Bacon but was disappointed. Apparently Applewood Bacon is also pumped with water like most other supermarket bacon. It's only average in my opinion.

It was the most delicious bacon I’ve ever had being able to slice it as thick as I want making 3/8 to half-inch cuts
