People should realize this is a raw, uncooked chip that can be cooked and seasoned as desired. There is the slightest HINT of shrimp flavor as is normal for these chips if eaten unseasoned. About 15 discs make a nice big bowl. I made a seasoning of buffalo powder and a bit of Tiger seasoning and sprinkled on some of these and they were the bomb. I also like them plain. The flavor profiles YOU decide to influence your chips with are infinite. I love the fact that they are packaged in small bags so you don't have the whole box open to the air and humidity etc. I cooked mine in an inch of hot oil. You only need a small pan of oil and not too many at once because they puff in about 2-3 seconds and if you leave them in too long, they will brown. They look and are textured similar to pork rinds but not quite as thick or tough. I also tried the microwave as one reviewer suggested. I cooked them for 40 seconds. They did puff but just kind of ok. Several of them didn't puff on the very outer edge and it is impossible to eat this part as it is very, very sharp and hard. I will try again for a bit longer period some time. They were still very edible for the most part and the natural flavor was a tad bit stronger than the oil fried. The oil fried are IMHO the best way to cook these for appearance and texture.These are great to have on hand, especially if you have unexpected company often or live far from a store or don't have a lot of money to waste. They literally last forever uncooked if kept dry and in a cool dark cupboard. And you can't beat the price. Just two of the small bags of discs alone would make as much as many large bags of chips from the grocery store which you would likely spend much more money on, than a whole case of these chips. And there are ten bags in the box. I give these an A+

Five pounds is A LOT of dried prawn crackers ... enough for months. They come loose in a large bag, so I separated them into four half-gallon mason jars for storage. Drop 'em in hot oil, and they puff up like magic. Decent shrimp taste. Recommended!

I've been on a mission to find easy, tasty, semi-healthy snacks and these little things fill the bill! They are very weird but delightful little things both before and after cooking. Before cooking they are fairly transparent, very thin discs that are colorful, about the size of half-dollars and blossom into large pastel cup looking things that are very crispy and ready to eat in seconds after being placed into hot oil. I use coconut oil to cook them and the oil needs to be VERY hot for them to cook within those few seconds after submersion. They are called shrimp crackers but there's very little aroma or taste of shrimp and resemble nothing at all like crackers! That said, if you are looking for an interesting snack, give these consideration. Hopefully you won't be disappointed!Be well, y'all.

Two 8oz boxes of colorful discs that look better than they taste. These have to be deep fried in hot, shallow oil. They puff up and expand to several times their raw size. Taste is ok but the quality of these chips is inconsistent. About 20% of them turn out tougher than the rest. Just toss out the hard ones if you have expensive dental work. I settled for this brand because of the positive reviews. Most of the chips are decent quality. though. Flavor of shrimp is mild and can be quite addicting. Like with other chips... can't stop with one.

These prawn chips are an alternative for potato chips and are delicious; however do not leave them out too long as they will get very soft. Try keeping them in an air-tight container.

Product changed somehow when I bought it from Amazon. When I buy it from the Asian store it tastes great but this tastes like cardboard.

I recommend this one! This was so easy to cook. Because it’s thin, it cooks through immediately. It also doesn’t burn easily. I purchased this one and another type of prawn chip locally to compare. The one I got locally was milky in color and thicker. It would have hard little uncooked parts, but if I waited just a half second too long to take them out, they would burn/turn brown.

I grew up with this. But for some reason, it hurt my and hubby's tummy. Our digestive system have changed.
