IT WORKS (found out the hard way)
Just ordered a new washer/dryer tower, which sits on recently refinished hardwood floors (over a finished basement). Saw positive reviews for this online (e.g. NYT Wirecutter) and went ahead and ordered. Hands down best insurance we ever bought! Sure enough, the washer leaked like crazy and this device alerted us via mobile app IMMEDIATELY (saving us from a worse nightmare). Great product, strongly recommended.Only issue we've experienced is when we first went to install/set up the app - we never received the registration email link. Tried again a couple days later (thankfully) and sure enough set up was successful (hard to say what caused the email delay, could be a number of factors unrelated to D-Link).

Connects to WiFi two floors away and provides great peace of mind
I use this to alert me if my sump pump fails. It works well and provides me great peace of mind. I have it plugged into a battery backup as is my WiFi so I get notified even during a power failure.

Easy set up. Excellent customer support!
I read the reviews of people having trouble pushing the set buttons on the back of the sensors when pairing. The easiest solution is to push the button firmly with the rounded end of a ball point pen cap for about 2-3 seconds and you will get the light! The setup and pairing are very easy. Be advised that you must have a smart phone for set up and that the notifications are limited to push notifications through the mydlink app. No text, email, or phone notifications are available. All things considered this product is very reasonably priced and the sensors work well. The sensors are small enough to fit under your dishwasher and refrigerator, and the cable sensor is perfect for going under the washing machine.

Zero Integrations
How dissapointing. The water sensor itself is great, it's well constructed, it works immediately, and I was happy for a few days. But you can't do anything with it. It has a very limited Google Home integration where your homes will tell you if they detect water, but you cannot customize or do anything with the device. There is no public API, there is no integration with Home Assistant, there is not even a port open on the device to talk to. This may sound technical to some, but for the average joe essentially it means you can only use this with their (kinda crappy) app, and the siren the sounds. You will not be able to do any custom alerts or alarms. Only the dlink app.I'll probably be returning this (decently crafted) device due to DLink's short shortsightedness.

Good Device, Lousy App
As part of my job, I've worked with various D-Link network products and have been pleased with them. This Water Leak Sensor and Alarm was easy to set up and it works well. I really like the ability to extend the sensor cable using a standard phone cable. However ...We lost power to the house a few days after I first set it up, but when the power came back on the devices did not reconnect to the wireless network. I had to unplug the main sensor and plug it back in to get it on the network. The wireless sensor also had to be reset. I hope that doesn't happen every time because my sensors are hard to get to.The mydlink android phone app lacks functionality for this product. It seems geared towards their other camera and home automation products. If water is detected, the app notifications are minimal. It pops up right away, but fades away in the sea of other calendar, text, e-mail, ... notifications. If you're not paying close attention, you may miss the SINGLE notification. I ignore my phone for hours at a time. It needs to be an alarm. If my encapsulated crawl space is being flooded, I want this app to pester me until I acknowledge it.The notifications from the app are the only option. I'd like to include multiple e-mail and/or text addresses to ensure the entire household is aware of the problem. Looking for more options, I logged in with the same account at mydlink.com. It wouldn't work with Firefox, Edge or Chrome. mydlink.com only supports Internet Explorer 11 or the unsupported Firefox 52 ESR (from 2017-18). That's inexcusable. On top of that, it doesn't list my devices in my account, and it only shows product information on their camera products. Absolutely useless. Also, the app ignores the phone's screen timeout setting. If you set your phone down with the mydlink app visible, the screen will not turn off (and lock the phone) and it will drain your battery.Update: After another power outage, and manually resetting my Internet router, these devices will never come back on-line without recycling the power to them. If they fail to connect to my wireless network one time after a power outage, because they power up faster than my router, they will NEVER try to connect again. If I reset my router, they will NEVER try to reconnect. I surprised that a company that makes decent computer networking gear, with "Link" in their name, can't get this device to reconnect to the network without turning it off and back on.

Amazing!!!
I love this!! Set up is super easy, and the ability to add on is fantastic.I put one in my water heater catch, one under my AC unit, and under each sink. These are all places I have had leaks before. The response is immediate. It sends a notification straight to my phone. The area I live is super humid, so my AC drain leaks frequently, no matter what I pour in it. But this way, instead of leaks in my garage that take hours to clean up ( I don’t go in my garage frequently), I am immediately notified to be able to take action and prevent water from going all over the place. The price is worth it 100%!!Buy this!! You can thank me later!!! :)

These really work (after 2 years review)
In 2022, I purchased several of these to keep in my basement in some spots that have had water issues in the past (usually due to a sprinkler head breaking and leaking water into basement). For 2 years, most of the sensors sat without incident and without any detection. I did not charge them or touch them. And today, I had a water leakage and they worked PERFECTLY. The photo is hard to see well, but you can see that there is a small pool of water that has leaked through the foundation in the basement floor. The alarm was loud enough to get my attention and my phone immediately notified me which water sensor so I could go directly to the problem spot. They do exactly what they are supposed to do and I am very glad to have them. I was able to quickly clean up the water and can fix the situation without standing water causing damage or mold. 10/10 recommend.
