This is for the 300lb capacity ladders
I've had this ladder for at least 12 years and ALL the tags and decals have long ago fallen off. There are no permanent ID marks on the ladder for model or serial number. I downloaded Werner's sales literature and narrowed it to two choices but, Werner's Cust Svc was no help identifying the ladder. C'mon!!! Is it really that hard to identify your product line? The part arrived in a Werner box and dropped right in. If you need an inner lock for your Werner ladder, this one is really easy to install and works like it should.

works as intended..perfectally.
This part exactly fixes a $400-$600 ladder.I gave it a 5 for ease though it was initially hard for me because I didn't know to fully open the ladder and it had to be rotated to align with the slots. I can't blame the part for my lack of understanding.you will need a cheap pair of snap ring pliers.

Easy to install, as good as new.
I don't know why my original one broke, but it had pushed itself so it was always open. So, I bought this one to replace it, and the instructions were nice and clear on how to do it. One thing which makes it easier are some pliers with pointy ends that you can insert in the holes of the semi-circular split pin things to be able to open and close them, and I'm sure there are special plier-type-things to do that too which would be even better. Now my ladder isn't in danger of killing me because I did use it too long with only one side working before I decided to fix it. Well worth the price for safety.

Only choice to replace the knob
These ladders have a plastic knob in the locks. Needless to say that plastic piece is subject to getting mashed up pretty easily. (The black part on the drawing). After some time trying to find a replacement, I found that this entire kit is the only available parts. I didn't need the lock and the rest of it, so I had to spend $30+ on a plastic knob. At least the ladder works well again and I have a spare lock if the ones on it ever give out. If I had a lathe, I'd probably machine one of these knobs out of metal so that it wouldn't be so easily mashed.

Easy to install with the right tools
Original manufacturer part. Super easy to install. I highly recommend picking up a cheap pair of snap-ring pliers, makes the installation simple.

Make sure you have the proper snap ring pliers for the job
Make sure you have the proper snap ring pliers for the job and the rest is easy. The part is the correct solution for ladder hinge that stops working the way it used to work, and when lubrication doesn't solve the issue.
