Excellent quality, good shielding, minimal capacitance
If you need a long-ass RS-232 cable, you know why you do and what the limitations are. At 25 feet, you're a bit outside the range of the average line driver being able to push much beyond 38.4k. The RS-232 standard gives you a cable length up to 50 feet, and obviously this is well under that, but the standard doesn't really expect you to be pushing high data rate at that range. It's all down to the quality and current capacity of your line drivers. The average PC's 16550 or USB-to-serial adapter is unlikely to have a super beefy line driver, so consider this distance about as far as you should expect to get for anything about 19.2k. My Apple II Super Serial Card has a pretty stout line driver on it, as does my Kaypro, but nothing else in the house does so this is coming from the voice of experience, here. The cable's fittings are of high quality, the kind of thing that was the beige "standard' quality in the mid-90s but is now much better than average. In fact the whole thing itself feels like it could have believably been made in 1991, before super garbage cables flooded the market. The sheath itself is solid and since all 25 lines are wired through with good-gauge wire, the whole thing has a pretty stiff bend radius. It's non plenum-rated nor insulated, so please use it only in open air in non-fire safety layouts outside the plenum. No drop ceilings, no raised floors, no air distribution or return ducts. Out in the open room only!Although, honestly, if you had both ends of the cable indoors or protected, I'd have no problem running the line itself through an outdoor space. It's a contiguous sheath around the insulated lines.

Good for linking ILDA Lasers
Use many of these to link all my ILDA compatible Laser projectors. Works well. Not had any issues so far.

Worked Perfectly for Installing ILDA Lasers
What some would call a 5 Pin Serial Port Cable, others would know as an ILDA cable. I was installing three 2000.milliwatt ILDA laser projectors in a permanent installation and needed long runds of ILDA cable. I ordered several of these cables to daisy chain the units, whcih I then ran into a Pangolin FB3QS that connected to a PC running QuickShow. The cables performed perfectly, and they were very reasonably priced.
