BXI Sound Absorber - 16 X 12 X 3/8 Inches 6 Pack High Density Acoustic Absorption Panel, Sound Absorbing Panels Reduce Echo Reverb, Tackable Acoustic Panels for Wall and Ceiling Acoustic Treatment

Ordered two pack of 6 panels for making wall directly behind and on sides of two floor speakers sound absorbing, which is an idea for improving sound imaging given in a guide book for audio tech. The plaster dry wall is about 1.5 ft from back of the speakers sitting near opposite corners. I simply stacked the 16”x 12” panels on top of each other leaning against wall (though only 3/8” thick they stack 3 - 4 high easily). What really surprises me is that not only imaging is better defined but also sound clarity improves with a genuine warmer feeling than before. These panels are much thinner than others so placing them around speakers does not take much space. It makes such a difference that I think it’s the best investment in terms of p/c ratio. Its cost so far is less than that of an interconnect. I plan to buy another pack to increase covering behind speakers. All in all it is really good product for sound absorbing. Another point to mention: initially I was going to gently paint them to match wall color but reading comments that any paint cover would reduce absorption coefficient 0.1 or more, I plan to wrap with light fabrics instead.

it works if you put very close to the dr gap, improving the isolation of the sound .

Would prefer that panels came pre-glued with 3M “peel off” tape. I used Velcro...a bit of a pain.
