Way better than what was on there
Not sure how some people are giving these a bad review with the simple job they are responsible for. I bought these to replace the 12yr old ones on my 2006 mountaineer and they work great, which is something the originals did not do. They install the same way, do not leak, and lift the hood. The local pick and pull wanted 12 dollars plug tax EACH, so this was a no brainer.

hood wouldn't close
Did not allow the hood to close.Manufacture should pre-test them before they ship them to customerAfter searching the internet I discovered another person who had the same problem.Their solution was to twist the shaft one revolution (breaking the inner seal) and then thehood would close.

Great value, easy to install.
These went on in a snap. All that was required was a small screwdriver to help remove the old parts before putting these on. Compared with what these sell for at local auto parts stores they are a real bargain as well. I think I paid about 50% of what they were asking in stores. Highly recommend.

They worked fine after installation.
These have only been installed in my 2006 Mountaineer vehicle for a couple of months. I don't go under the hood often, I was doing a basic fluids checks when the hood just didn't want to stay up. So I bought the QiMox Hood Lift Struts. The hood now has much more up tension to stay open than the original OEM struts which were 14 years old. I did several hood up / down checks after installation, no issues. I now have to give a really good pull to close the hood. I recommend these.

Awesome buy!!!!!
These worked great. I'm a female and I easily popped the old ones out and popped these in. They work great. My hood on my 2006 Mercury Mountaineer Premier holds up on its own now. The dealer was trying to charge me $120. Just get these and do it yourself for under $15.
