The birds love these. Good stuff.
The pigeons I've adopted can't get enough of these. I've got a general mix that I'm giving them which has a bit of sunflower seed in it, but I added these to the mix and the birds went nuts. Then invited all their mates over to geta beakful. There are some bits of stalk or whatever, which is basically from thrashing the seeds off the flower heads I would imagine, but the birds don't seem to mind, they're far too busy stepping on each other to get to the seeds.I don't think your smaller wild birds are going to go for these much, but definitely the bigger ones, from blackbird and thrush upwards. And squirrels will go for them too.Very nice product and so many seeds for the price. Good value for money.

Birds Love it - and I love the random Sunflowers!
Simply, exactly what many of our small songbirds want to find in their hanging feeders - and as a bonus, towards Autumn, random Sunflowers appear around the wilder parts of our garden. An essential purchase if you love your wildlife.

Wood pieces
Good sunflower seeds although every handful, Or just picking some up, Theres always a piece of wood. If the wood is included with the weight, This is a scam, I think its included so do not buy!

Clean & little plant debris in Ting black sunflower seeds for parrots & finches.
These are excellent enrichment for birds & prevent over preening and can plucking in bored captive birds. They make a right mess but easily cleaned indoors. However, used outdoors they can be bad for birds which cannot dehusk them & bad for gardens & environment.Swallowed whole they are useless debris in flighted birds which need no fibre. The useless weight weighs birds down & release toxins. Also these seed husks will cause bald areas in your garden where birds defecate and husk/hulls drop (see below)Finches & ringneck parrots can remove the husk/hull but many cannot & the weight renders them sluggish in flight or take-off and unsafe to escape predation. So please feed sunflower 'hearts' in your feeder outside. Are sunflower seeds bad for your lawn?Yes, there IS a toxin in the hulls of sunflower seeds that will kill plants... whether grass or other plants. The simple, and MUCH neater approach is to buy "Sunflower Hearts" or "Chipped Sunflower Seed"available from Amazon.
