Great quality, long battery life, very convenient to purchase additional batteries, and a nice assortment of accessories with a quality case to store everything!

I wouldn't recommend for light tasks that need more agility, like engraving, it's longer and heavier than the corded Dremel 2001 I was borrowing while this one was on order. To my surprise, the 12v WorkPro was, by far, the better tool. The rotation is super smooth even when there are chips out of the metal cutting discs and I've been using it to cut tube and plate steel. Good selection of speeds, top speed, and more torque than I expected from a 12v.The only way I found the "corded" Dremel better, was in torque, and the difference was nearly negligible. The Dremel's slight rattle cause it to eat the cutting discs 4-5 times faster than the WorkPro, snap the disc holding screw the second pass, and fatigue my hand.The WorkPro required a slightly softer pressure against the steel, but cut as smooth as a hot knife through butter. Remember, this a battery powered hobbyist tool, not dedicated disc cutter. So be realistic with your expectations.Even still, I'm very impressed by this tool and it has a very similar weight, look, feel, and quality to my newest 20v Porter Cable tools. If the quality maintains as I buy more, this will be my new go-to brand for battery power tools.Just ordered the 12v reciprocating saw and will buy the 12v drill next month, so they can share batteries.

Purchased for the metal cutting and sanding features. It works pretty well. It is a bit heavy and louder than I would prefer, but I plan to keep it and make good use of it.

It actually surprises me that in the age of cordless tools, Bosch (owner of Dremel) still has yet to produce one that isn’t complete garbage. And I say this as a fan of their corded units. I don’t do a ton of hobby work, but when you need something small to cut in confined areas, you can’t beat a Dremel. I finally pulled the trigger on this unit after researching for a couple of months, and I just couldn’t find anything else that met my needs.I had a couple requirements and this met them. It has to have independently charging battery packs (I don’t want to throw out a tool just because the battery is bad and can’t be replaced), it has to be variable speed, and it has to be 12V (every 8V unit I’ve ever tried just doesn’t have the power I need).This meets all 3 requirements, AND it’s not much bigger / heavier than a standard Dremel.It comes with the charger, battery, your standard cheap Dremel accessory kit, and a bag which is NOT a blow-moulded case (this is a good thing, those take up far too much space in my service van).I actually bought a second battery. This thing has all the power of a corded unit. My only real complaint is that I didn’t buy it sooner.

Perfect for filing down my dogs nails. I coupled this with a specific bit for doing so and it works like a charm.

Friends, I will try to make my review and comparison as honest as possible.I will compare WORKPRO with the Dremel 8220 set. I understand that the price of WORKPRO and Dremel is different, but still, I will try to explain the pros and cons. I'm just going to give these Rotary Tools my ratings from 0 to 5 stars. Of course, the higher the score, the more best and better the tool.1. Appearance and assembly - both rotary tools look good and are well built, my rating is 5.2. Both devices have a removable battery, but the Dremel battery lasts much longer. In WORKPRO, after 10-15 minutes of operation at speed 3, the battery is discharged by one point and the indicator shows only two bars, as far as we know, this is 50%. So the WORKPRO battery - 3, and the Dremel battery - 5.3. Rotary tools heating, both are heated up, especially at high speed. But WORKPRO heats up much more. WORKPRO - 3, Dremel - 54. Vibration, and here is the main reason arose why I had to issue a WORKPRO return. If you completely unscrew the nut holding the Dremel collet, the collet fits very tightly into the hole. But in WORKPRO, the hole is much larger than the collet and the collet is free in it. I assume that this is the reason for the strong vibration of WORKPRO. At the highest speeds, you can only work with the smallest bits in the WORKPRO kit. Even with slightly larger bits, you will not be able to work more than the third speed, there will be terrible noise and vibration. Dremel has no vibration problems. So WORKPRO - 2, Dremel - 5.Chargers for both WORKPRO and Dremel are good and the batteries charge fairly quickly. Charger WORKPRO - 5, Dremel - 5.5. Sets of accessories, in my opinion, WORKPRO has more of them, it means better. Unfortunately, I can't comment on the quality though. WORKPRO - 5, Dremel - 3.6. Case for Rotary tools and accessories. Dremel definitely wins here because it has a hard case, and this is much more reliable and convenient for storing the tool. WORKPRO - 3, Dremel - 5.7. It is difficult to say about the power of the torque since I did not test it, but by trying to stop it for a short time, we can conclude that both rotary tools are on the same level. WORKPRO - 5, Dremel - 5.In conclusion, I returned WORKPRO and bought Dremel, a company that is not only well-established but has a long history and experience. But also, as far as I know, Bosch bought Dremel and controls its production. And they also gave a 20% discount on 8220. For me, this is definitely a Dremel but your decision is up to you.
