Great For Beginner Readers!!!!
This book is really good for beginner readers. It is illustrated well and for my little one who loves Peter Pan, she loves that she can read it to me. I would say it's probably Kindergarten level as far as for reading goes. My little one has Down Syndrome and if it was words she didn't know, she has learned them and we also focus on speech sounds while reading. It is a great book for that because of the few words on each page. Some pages are only one and two words for example, Bedtime., Fairy Dust, See Mermaids. There are some pages that have 3 words but like I said simple enough for kids to figure out by sounding out the letters and looking at the pictures and before long they will have it memorized. If your child has to practice speech sounds it is good to focus on those beginning and ending sounds since there are few words on each page. She even accomplished the "Fl" blend for Fly. My daughter loves the book and so do I. We read it every night for months and it doesn't get old. I guess it helps that we love Peter Pan!!

Great start to reading for youngsters
Great start to reading for youngsters. My son loves this book. The very minimal amount of words on a page makes it easy to focus on learning words without the distraction of many other words. Especially for kids with a minimal attention span.If you are looking for a 'Step Into Reading' book that has one or a few full sentences, go for a more advanced level.

An interesting early reader for Peter Pan fans!
An early reader book that is a very basic retelling of Disney's version of Peter Pan. Colorful pictures from the movie will interest readers who are fans. Like most easy readers, it's a story told in few words so it is not a great real aloud choice.

Great level 1 book
My daughter loves this book. I believe this is what a level 1 book should really be. It has very little words per page and they repeat throughout the book. Some other level 1 books have too many words per page and they don't repeat.

Self esteem booster
My son is behind in reading. His teacher is requiring him to read a book aloud to his class. He was very anxious and down on himself about it. We got this book because he likes Peter Pan. He has memorized it… but it has changed his outlook about the assignment. Here’s hoping this opens the door for him to enjoy reading!!

The pictures are pretty, but daughter did not want to reread it ...
I understand it is meant to be for very very early readers, but 1 word per page is a bit cryptic to say the least. The pictures are pretty, but daughter did not want to reread it once she had sounded the words out once (and she LOVES Peter Pan), so I would declare this one a failure.

For a beginning reader
its a level one easy reader. Very little content if the grown up is reading to the child, but good for a beginning reader. We own the Golden Book edition also
