The Monocle Book of Entrepreneurs: How to run your own business and find a better quality of life

Aggregation of interviews without much depth
I found the book to be boring and just using the typical stereotypes/startup tips without much depth. It does feel very much as if someone cut out pages from the magazine and just sticked them together in a book.If you are after practical startup advices or stories, there are better books out there. If you are just curious about the book, or if you fancy reading all their magazine interviews into one single book then this is it.The positives:- Neat presentation, the book is visually pleasant, similar to Monocle magazine.- Stories and tips are kept short, so it is easy to read, put down and pick up again. The negatives:- There is a section with advices from 'experts', this is shallow in nature and the advices are not that helpful (if you read this book with the intention of picking up practical tips for a startup). If read only for curiosity, then I suppose this is all fine.- There is a whole section on locations, if you wanted to travel and set up in other countries or cities. Again this is quite shallow, each city is given two paragraphs and a pretty picture. A bit unsure on what this section is supposed to add in value.- The last section is about success stories, each story is given 2-3 paragraphs and a pretty picture.

Mediocre.
This is not really insightful or inspiring in the way it could have been. All the makings of a great book that the world of entrepreneurs need are there but it never comes to fruition because of what are essentially half-hearted, fairly superficial articles. A wasted opportunity.
