Awesome. Beautiful, comfortable and rugged.
These are the most awesome boots!!The photos do no justice to these boots. They are the most beautiful boots ever.Brushed suede lowers, double stiching in a most aristic way. Air vents, both sides of each. Boot runs way up high, with dozens of gromellets on each boot. Sole is a good one inch thick of vibram. Beautiful color, sort of a light chocolate color. Soles match color of boot. Very light, and tough. These boots are so nice, you will be sure to get compliments about them. These boots are not only very beautiful looking, but they have a bad a** look to them, also. The kind of boots that your mother in law would wear. One look and folks can tell that you are not pussy footing around with these hush puppies. I venture that if you take good care of these boots, they will outlast you.Regarding sizing, I ordered my usual size. They fit perfectly. You should prob get a nice set of sole inserts for them. Esp if you have flat feet. The boots are roomy, so inserts work well. Honestly, I can not say enough good things about this boot. You will be proud to wear these boots. And you will be standing tall, as the sole is about an inch thick. Very comfortable boots, esp if you get sole inserts. Awesome. I love them.

great fit and comfort
I finally wanted to upgrade from jungle boots fetish(my first pair was p/o the daily routine in 1968) to current Mil Grade technology,I wear a 10 D hiking boot , I ordered a 9 Reg in the med light brown, read the specs.. lots of great design features that old jungle boot did not have.the Belleville chart says its same as a 10 D, they were right on.. after 30 minutes wearing w/ light hiker socks. and tight fit break-in , I was good,1 hour later I was glad , 6 hours later - now the have to be tightened up after 30 minutes , but the speed lacing makes that a 1 minute event.in 85 temps .. no heat build up, vibram soles will be a 10 year boot for my occasional use . same wear on the cheap made jungle boots on amazon at $40 -is maybe 2 years & no tread left...... definitely a great boot for most any terrain worth the price also .

Great Summer boot.
Wide and rugged, comfortable for rucking, great tactical features like speed lacing. No drain holes, which was surprising in a non-waterproof boot, but haven't had any problems with it.

Great boot! Men's sizes, buy 1 full size smaller than your Brannock size.
These are great boots and are super comfortable, provided that you buy the right size.My foot size per the Brannock scale is a 10D or 10 Medium. Most of the tennis shoes that I buy are 10D. Most of the cowboy boots and laceless leather dress shoes that I buy are 9.5D in order to get a snug fit since leather stretches. In these Belleville boots, I wear a size 9R (9 Regular). The size 8.5R is not long enough and cramps my toes. The size 9.5R is far too big and slips too much in the heel. 9R is perfect and had just the right amount of heel slip (about 1/4" inch) until the boot broke in and molded around my ankle.I did replace the laces with some Ironlace paracord laces. They grip the boot better and stay cinched when you're tying your boots on. The laces that come with these boots are okay but not great. Go ahead and order better laces while you're at it.As far as socks go, I usually wear Under Armour over-the-calf heat wear socks. They work great with these boots. The boots do have enough room that if I loosen the laces some, especially over the vamp or instep of the boot, that I could wear thicker socks for colder weather or more padding if I needed to.Only time will tell how durable these boots will be, but the reviews I've seen here and elsewhere suggest that they will hold up for a long while to come.

Too big
The shoe is a 14 compared to the 12.5 boot.I wear a 14 in almost every boot and shoe I own. I seen where to order these a size smaller than normal. I went even more than that and ordered a 12.5, and they’re still way too big. I’ve got roughly 3/4” too much in length and I laced them up tight and it felt like I could shove my hand between my foot and any side of the boot. Not sure if this pair is just a blimp or if they all run like this. Either way, this pair is getting trashed.

Quality control problems 2020
I've worn Belleville boots in the past and quality was always top notch. The C390 has some major sizing issues, I'm a 10.5D in most shoes and usually buy 1 size down in combat boots (Belleville themselves recommend 1-1.5 size down) I first tried a pair of 9.5D which were massive! Absolute boats on my feet, also had some major quality issues, there was dried glue on the heel and nose of the boot and stitching was spotty. So I figured this might have been an off pair so I ordered another half size down to a 9D. Received them directly from manufacturer and right out of the box there were more dried glue issues and a few bad stitches. Being that I needed a pair for an upcoming hike, I can look past the cosmetic flaws. However trying on the smaller size - still MASSIVE!!!My other Belleville boots are 9.5D and were perfect out of the box with minimum break in time. These C390s literally tore my feet apart. Wore them around the house, to the shops, and on a few walks despite the sizing issue but on my hike they annihilated my ankles. Instant bleeding and blisters it was horrible. Now I can certainly blame myself for not getting a properly sized boot and wearing them anyway, but my 3 star rating is my experience with the cosmetic flaws on 2 different pairs (Again the second pair was shipped directly from Bellevilles manufacturing plant in IL) and the bizarre sizing issues of course.Bellville has been a great American company that has outfitted our troops for many years, I only hope that the current issues reside only with this current line of boot and possibly the timing of the covid pandemic quality control might just be slipping for now.It sucks I've already worn them since I needed them and cannot return or exchange for another size but that was understood when I wore them outside for the first time.
