Love this book
I really enjoyed reading this book. It's clearly a resource for learning about the life experiences of a deaf person, a young girl in this instance - which any parent or teacher will find useful. The book is easy to read, accessible, and gentle in its exploration of what it's like to be deaf. The photos really help you to appreciate the day-to-day life of Ananya, a girl who is deaf, but also so much more. The radio aid anecdote is funny and endearing. The exercise at the end of the book is a great springboard to get kids thinking about their own identities, which makes me think a follow-on second edition of this book isn't too far away. I wish there were more books like this one!

Ananya is not defined by deafness
A beautifully written story about a girl called Ananya who is deaf. This book challenges our conception about deafness as a disability. Ananya’s deafness doesn’t define who she is as her disability is just a small part of her identity . She is much more than a girl who wears cochlear implants .I highly recommend this book to be read to school children to make them aware of the difference between the deaf child and the child who is deaf.

Important and beautifully done.
A Girl Like Anaya is a breath of fresh air. The messages are beautiful and easy to understand and the photos are easily relatable and uplifting. This book should be read by all children, hearing or (D)eaf to help children learn about celebrating difference and to give some insight into what it might be like for children and adults like Anaya.I really loved this book!! Looking forward to more like this please!

Brilliant learning resource
An excellent book for educating and raising awareness of what it is like for children with cochlea implants but also for seeing children as a whole, not defined by this alone. Inspiring

Beautiful story
A lovely story bringing deaf awareness into this wild world! I love that it portrays the idea that just because Ananya is deaf, it doesn't mean she can't chase her dreams
