Hi, there are two ways: 1, directly adjust the direction of the head to face your door, then turn off the smart tracking mode in the settings. 2, open the settings in the APP - find the detection settings - detection area settings

Q: Does this have to be in a socket that is down or can I put it in a socket that is up?

I purchased 5 of these cameras. One is on the socket. In the settings, click the picture settings to rotate the view. Really easy.
