Good weight, solid and does the job - but oil it!
Cast iron bacon press that is round so it fits pans better than the traditional rectangular versions. We've found it Ideal for sealing meats and adding lines while cooking to steaks, burgers, chops and of course creating crispy bacon, etc. What most people don't realise that any cast iron may show a little minor surface rust or marks after cooking or washing up, but it is the perfect weighty material for presses and they heat well and retain that heat. To prevent and treat any very light surface rust or marks wash well and dry it thoroughly as soon as possible after cooking, then apply a very light wipe of vegetable oil over the metal. It is of good quality and will last you for years and years..

Hefty Hamburger Helper
This burger press is a nicely weighty beast, meaning that it smashes your burger balls effortlessly, and if you want to maintain full pan contact, it will work very effectively as a steak weight as well to get that nice maillard reaction going.Cleaning is much the same as anything else made of cast iron; easy to do, but just take due care not to leave it wet so that it won't rust.

Leaching something black
Washed and dried 5 times before using and still keeps leaching something black between the bottom grid. returned as not sure what it is.

Arrived fast and was exactly as described…. Brilliant….However ….this was a replacement for a similar one ordered LAST JUNE 2022 which NEVER arrived from a company called qinghan1301 based in China and I was also refused a refund so definitely DONT purchase from qinghan1301 .
