Rich tone, beautiful bow
Bought this for my daughter as she is now taking private lessons and learning to play the violin in earnest. Love how this set comes with a shoulder rest that fits the violin perfectly. Came with rosin, but no extra strings. We had previously purchased a Mendini violin in 1/32 size when she was really little, and the sound of this DZ Strad is much superior by far. Very rich tone, even though the body is still a tiny 1/4 size. The violin varnish had a few nicks and imperfections in it, but the tone is really good quality. The violin bow is absolutely beautiful. The frog slide and screw features gorgeous mother of pearl, and the side of the frog is not your usual Parisian eye but a very unique symbol. Looks very high-end. The customer service was excellent and we were sent a replacement because the first bow was defective. Definitely will be sticking to the DZ Strad and this seller as we outgrow and need new sizes going forward because we know we can buy in confidence and get good quality and service.

Nice violin for Middle school
This is our 2nd violin with the same brand. It is a good violin. I only rated 3 stars because the description says : Set up with Wittner-style composite tailpiece with four built-in fine tuners. There's only 1 fine tuner. The 3 fine tuners are missing and the tail piece looks different. I'm returning the item and request for replacement. I will update my review once I receive the replacement next week.Update 9/9/24:4 stars for imperfection.I received the replacement today. It's the right tailpiece. There's a small imperfection, otherwise everything looks good like the one we got last year.

Amazing sound quality.
I got this violin about a week ago, and I love it! I bought a cheeper violin a year ago as a beginner, and I can definitely tell the sound quality is 10 times better. I also like the little designs on the frog of the bow and the end screw. Very pleased with this violin!

Excellent
I am not a musician, and was hoping the DZ Strand violin was a good purchase. I bought it for my grandson who had been playing the violin for 8 years and only had rummage sale violins. I was told by his music teacher it was a good purchase with good quality sound. I am very pleased.

is very pleased with this "little fiddle"
I bought this for my daughter as her first violin, having no experience myself, I chose by reviews and cost. Her instructor, who teaches the Suzuki method, is very pleased with this "little fiddle". She said it has a very pleasant sound and is quite impressed with the bow.

You may also want to consider the Strad LC101, 120, or 220
I bought this model: 101, and then the next day saw some writing about it that students of intermediate level already found this violin "not enough"... but for the model 120 or 220, seems like even advanced players find it adequate (the 220 for sure... the 120 might be good for intermediate?).See... I already paid close to $360 including shipping because expedite shipping (3 day) $30 is not included (I guess the reason is some people wanted to returned it for the same reason I listed above, so then they don't make it an "Amazon Prime" item.) So if I go with the 120 model, and it is Amazon Prime, I don't have to pay any shipping, then I end up paying $90 to $100 more only, and it is faster delivery. And if I go with the 220, then it is $300 more. I might actually just pay the extra $300 if I had known that the 101 is only good for beginner's level and not even the intermediate level. I initially thought the 101 is good for beginner and intermediate and so I could buy a more expensive violin once I am at the intermediate level and know more about violin and the different brands.
