B&P Lamp® 3-Terminal Med. Base, Turn Knob Socket Interior

Used to repair an old lamp. works well

I purchased two of these B&P Lamp 3-Terminal Med. Base, Interior units with a Turn Knob. For safety reasons, each lamp was unplugged before any work began. The nonworking socket unit was removed and replaced with the newly purchased B&P unit. I used a screwdriver to tighten the wire ends to the screws on the interior socket. This was a successful “Do It Yourself Project"! I am pleased with the quality of this product and with the ease of the installation process. Both units operate seamlessly and help to provide the light needed where they have been placed in our home.

Made an old lamp new again. I have a 3-way lamp. I removed the old socket after I took pics of the wiring connections. I compared the pics of the old socket to the online pics of replacement sockets and ordered the one that matched. I connected the wires to the new socket like the old one, reinstalled it and Voila! New lamp!

The media could not be loaded. Works the way I wanted perfectly. By wiring the plug hot side to the lower bulb terminal and lower bulb hot wire to the brass terminal, you can reverse the sequence so that the night light is the last lit. Makes it a better bedside lamp so that when turning off the night light, you don't get blasted with brightness just before closing your eyes. Obviously, both neutrals from the plug and lower bulb get connected to the neutral screw.

Excellent 'drop in' replacement for conventional 3 Terminal switches that have failed. These used in lamps permit a combination of two different lights to be controlled, whereas a 3 way light only requires a 3 way bulb and 3 way switch. There is the difference to keep in mind.

Thanks goodness for Amazon. I could not find this part in my local hardware stores. The turn switch on the old one is broke and stripped. Used this part to replace the unserviceable socket assembly.
