Great value, wonderful quality, and we played with this train all night for days for Christmas! Easy to assemble, easy to take apart and store for next season! If the lights turn off, it means your train is off track and its ALWAYS an easy fix! Mistakes happen all the time by kicking, or bumps! Just put it back on the track! This train will last for years! Our family loved it and so did social media! LOL! Perfect for around the Christmas tree and was so beautiful to look at at night! Get your kids a Lionel locomotive train! My grandmother always said they were the best and they really are! This one one reminds me of the train set I had as a child! It brought back so many childhood memories! Every child deserves a train set! Get them the best of the best! Lionel!

This Harry Potter train set by Lionel is super nice. I'm not a train buff so I will leave all the technical stuff to the experts and just comment on my set up experience. I'm happy to say my shipment arrived without any visible signs of damage and my out of the box experience was completely trouble free. Everything went together smoothly and my train was happily chuff chuffing along in almost no time at all. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was how very nice the train engine is. It is a beautifully detailed high quality piece that pulls the 4 included cars with ease. The engine sound effects are great! The supplied controller is a nice size and weight and it makes its Bluetooth pairing with the engine perfectly every time I turn it on. If you're a Potter fan and you are looking for a quality themed Lionel train set then you should take a look at Hogwarts Express. You'll be glad you did.

Our train arrived exactly as it was detailed on the website, and it runs perfectly. A few quick things of note that people should be aware of.1) The smoker is turned on by default, on the train section you'll want to turn it off first before use if you are not loading it with smoke fluid before it's first use. This will keep the smoker from getting damaged. The switch is hidden where the conductor would be if it was a real train... It is a little hard to see at first.2) Some of the car connector sections can be a bit sticky, so it might be difficult to hook your train together... don't worry, it is just stubborn. Good news is it holds them together well, you just need to get them together in the first place.3) If you do not unplug the tracks, and turn the remote off, it'll make a beeping noise. Don't forget to unplug the track before turning it off.Otherwise it is a lovely train set, and a lot of fun to have running around the tree.

The media could not be loaded. Worth every penny to see and hear the joy on my childs face! Very good quality train that we look forward to using every Christmas through the years. Two improvments would be helpful. One, it would be nice to be able to leave the track powered on and have the train disconnected from a remote with out the train "chirping" continously. Two, it would be nice to have an operational mode that would allow the train to run without a remote being on. In a typical train set you can turn the control on and walk away. While technically you can do that with this one, the remote, or cell phone if you use the bluetooth app, will run batteries down quickly.

This definitely brought out the big kid in me! Excellent train with great detail that the kids and I absolutely love. Easy to assemble and the smoke and sound effects had us all with stars in our eyes. It’s gonna make the holidays ahead next level!

When I set this up, I did not expect it to have all the bells and whistles....get it? But it was way better than advertised. I didn't realize that you could hear Harry, Ron, Hermione, and of course Hagrid from the train. Anything from the trolley came rolling out of the hidden speaker. The train will produce smoke and a chugging sound. You have complete control over it because of the app. One of the things that I like the best is that I didn't have to have any other equipment. The track controller and engine come with cars and work right out of the box!

The locomotive and the sound car are very heavy and sturdy, the passenger cars are plastic and altogether it is so cool! It was easy to set up and operate, plus it was easy to disassemble and store back in the original box. Very pleased with the purchase!

The engine and tender are metal while the cars are plastic which is standard for lionel trains so the heavy engine can easily pull the lighter cars. The engine and cars have great detail, and the cars light up. The train sets up very quickly and is easy to use. The lights, sounds, and smoke are really great and making running the train a lot of fun.I tried the Bluetooth app on my phone and it works well, but the remote works the same so you don’t need the Bluetooth if you don’t want to use it. The only downside is if you have the remote off but the track plugged in it makes a beeping noise to indicate it is trying to connect the Bluetooth. I haven’t checked the instructions to see if this can be turned off as it is a bit of annoying sound.The track in the set is a good size (curves to make a 3’ circle and 4 straight pieces), but I got it with 4 extra straight pieces to make sure it could go around the Christmas tree easily.
