Can't put it down!
I am almost finished with this book. I have not been able to put it down, which for me, is rare! It is intriguing. Not only, do I find the subject matter of Jung's theory of 'The Shadow,' captivating, illuminating and inspiring, but I must give huge credit especially to the authors for delivering it in a way that makes it understandable. This book is very well written; easy to understand, plainly articulated and well formatted into sections that make it easy to shift from topic to topic, without getting lost. The subject matter could easily be convoluted and complicated, but the authors have written this in a way that makes this somewhat perhaps complex subject, very simplified and comprehendable. As a person who has had to have a lot of occupational therapy for serious reading issues, I appreciate the authors sharp writing ability!! Superior subject matter AND superiorly written makes this book a FIVE STARS in my world, and that from me, is VERY rare!

You know more than you think you know and you are more than you think you are.. Interesting book
As a young man of age 20, This book really helped me figure out quite a bit about life, my self, and other people. It opened my mind to what contribute to a persons behavior and that I should pay attention to more than just their from consciousness and see that perhaps some aspect of them was hurt and twisted but that they are unaware of it.I at first thought this book was telling me that people cannot help to be the way they are... and at first perhaps not, but after informing your self there can indeed be a way. This book can push you in the right direction.5/5

Worth a read
The book is a series of articles written by different people. So, of course, some are better than others. I was certain that I would want to reread some of the book, so I gave each article a grade, from A to C (there were no D's or F's. There were some articles that simply weren't relevant to my area of interest, so I gave them an N/R.) Average grade was probably a B+ (my main criterion was: did this article make me think?) There were a fair number of A+'s. If you have any interest in the topic, this book is worth a read. Especially since you can probably tell after a few paragraphs if the article is of interest, and you can just skip it if you want. I didn't know much about Jung when I bought the book. People who know a lot about him might find the book to be just too much review, but there were a lot of really bright people who contributed, so at the very least you will get a broad spectrum of perspectives.

Five stars in our reading group
Our jungian book study group read this over a course of several months, with zoom meeting discussions and posts on Facebook. It was well liked and git strong interest from other groups because many members wanted to know how to integrate the shadow, in detail. This was covered nicely. Many great discussions were had. The different topics and perspectives were very insightful.

Have not finished yet....
Ok....I have not even finished this book & have found the material I needed to work with. In doing my own psyche work, it is a huge help......like having several therapists available to help me thru my process(es).Have read some of Robert Bly's books before (regarding shadow work) & appreciated his style of writing.....he leads men's groups, which I think is awesome....it's about time somebody was looking out for the guys (& yes, I am a woman!)I appreciate the collection of shorts done by a variety of writers because it provides an interesting array of perspectives which have all helped me look at my difficulties from different "angles".
